A recently announced UFC 103 main event between Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson, two fighters who have bounced between the middleweight and light-heavyweight divisions, will likely be contested at 205 pounds.

While a guest on today's edition of MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio), Franklin said he hasn't been told definitely but that he's "assuming" the fight will be at light heavyweight.

On Monday the UFC announced the surprise booking, which is a rematch from the first Franklin vs. Henderson fight that took place in January at UFC 93, but didn't specify the weight for the bout.

From the sound of it, no contract was inked. The UFC booked it and Rich found out later.

Well I can't imagine it being at MW, it wouldn't make any sense.

It wouldn't surprize me if they did another 195 lb catchweight. It's a perfect weight class for RIch and I'm Sure Dan would have no problem with it either. With Rich competing at 205 and Dan at 185, it would make pretty good sense to do another one at that weight to meet both of them in the middle. Not often they do catch-weights, much less with two in a row in Rich's case, but it would make alot of sense to do it in this case.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see this fight being at a 195 catchweight. I'm pretty sure Rich doesn't want to go down in weight so the fight is either going to be at 195 or 205.

If I were rich I'd want it at 185, hendo is a better fight at 205 for some reason.

I hate this matchup right now. It sounds like the UFC doesn't know what to do with Franklin.

If they do it at 195 and Rich wins, does it still have the same meaning? Rich lost last time at 205, to avenge that loss it should be in the same weight class.

What is the point of Henderson jumping back and forth in weight classes? I just dont see where he's going with this..

Another pointless matchup to fill in a Main Event slot. Obviously they had to make something happen--and it was obviously going to be Rich, but I was really hoping it would be something else.

I think they made a mistake of putting Anderson Silva vs Griffin as a co-main event at UFC 102, when it could have been a great headliner for UFC 103--I mean I don't get how you can't see that in advance.

Sorry Joe Silva, but all you do is search talent and make matchups--probably the best job in the world and he's really not that great at it.

wow, i mean i know this fight doesnt mean a lot to the title pictures in either weight class, but i think joe silva has been excellent with his matchmaking, especially lately. i havent really had anything to complain about with him lately, maybe you just havent seen that kingsbury is fighting al hazzan yet(other than that hes seriously been good though IMO)

Yeah, this fight doesn't make much sense. Especially this early. Why not make 103 a Spike TV event and give Franklin a matchup with Luiz Cane. That would be a good Main Event for a free show. Because to be honest they have some good fights on this card but I don't know if I'll shell out 50 for it.
