"When Lesnar didn't come after me, that really threw me off." "He didn't land any punches on his feet, did he?" "I didn't expect him to run." "He ran like a lightweight. ... It's my fault. I should have trained that he would be intimidated from the standup" fighting position."
Bloody Elbow Article
This is pretty delusional to me. Does anyone agree with this. I just didn't see it the same way Mir does, and I think he's kidding himself.

He had Lesnar backpedaling and then threw in the Urijah-like flying knee and it was all downhill from there.
And by the way...I'm about sick of Mir praising his own standup as if he's some world class striker. It makes me want to puke.

He got owned and ridden, I knew it was going to happen but did not want it to. Brock is so big that he has to be kind of lucky right off to get a change to lock in something. I was pretty pissed people were booing Brock during and after the fight those short punches in the 1st did not look like much but were really doing damage. Kind of makes Randy's performance look better

Im not so impressed by Brock, he just layed on top of Mir, without his size he would not be were he is today. But the man followed the game plan and pulled out the win so props to him. And as far as Mir goes i still think hes a better fighter and better guy. Ohh not taking anything away from Mirs win over Nogs, but Nogs just got out of the hospital for a serious staff infection and he had a bum knee.

No one is acting like the guy is a crazy technical fighter but he is extremely impressive, when he was "Laying" on Mir he was rearranging Mir's face and Mir could not defend the punches that is impressive. This was not a 5 round lay n pray like old Randleman or Coleman fights, it was a route with Mir being brutally beaten. Lesnar is a force.

People keep saying this but it's complete crap!!!
If it was just Brock's size that got him where he is then why aren't Bob Sapp and Hong Choi-Man UFC Heavyweight Champions?
Brock has great technique and can control his opponents superbly, he's good at getting his opponents in awkward positions and landing clean shots when not in a lot of space himself. He also moves like a Lightweight and dominates his opponents like they're ragdolls.
Being strong is one thing, but being able to use that strength and apply it in an MMA fight is a completely different story, anyone who trains will know this.

I hope not, just build the damn arena in Russia and get Fedor, heh heh, pie in the sky. someone needs to test Brock's chin, get Carwin or Cro Cop or somebody slap a half decent sprawl on Kongo and get him in there I do not care if they do not deserve a title shot. I do not want to see Nogueira die in the cage so please do not throw him in there.

Mir sounds like a delusional fan in a forum about to get pwnt. This is complete nonsense.
I can already see the slow, steady decline of Mir's fan-base.

Mir got destroyed, just like I knew he would.
However, did you idiots watch the fight? He landed a hard knee and came within about a centimeter of landing a pretty vicious looking hook. Brock was scared to stand with him and he was panicking.
