who are your top 5 guys in each weight class, and guys who are already fighting exclude them
lightweight 1. sanchez 2.maynard 3.edgar 4.griffin 5. guida
welter 1. swick 2.kammpman 3. fitch 4. kos 5. hardy
middlew 1. okami 2. hendo 3. maia 4. marquardt 5. bisping
lightheavy 1. rampage 2. shogun 3. griffin 4. evans 5. franklin
heavy 1. carwin 2. velasquez 3. big nog 4. couture 5. dos santos
with over 150 fighters on contract, even though i was first against it, i do think the ufc needs to make or open up another weight class at 195 or 220

I pretty much agree with everything except that Nate should be higher then Maia because hes definitely beaten way better fighters where Maia has been beating C-B level guys. Nice list tho! Mad pumped for the end of the year!

You have a theme of not having a contender alreayd in line, Florian, ranked, so not sure why you put Shogun there, hes already fighting. Are rankings are close to identical except im thinking you must have forgot about Paulo Thiago. Debut fight or not, he has to be higher than Josh Koschek. I love ranking threads.

Mostly agreed, although for a "contenders" ranking, not just a general top ten, I think it's important to take in factors like marketability, name recognition, and recent fights at the top of the food chain. For instance, I would put Griffin ahead of Evans because Evans has to win a few before fighting the current champion, Machida, again even though Griffin lost to Evans in his last fight. Maynard is probably more deserving than Sanchez; I put Okami at #1 as a sign of protest.
Lightweight: 1. Sanchez 2. Maynard 3. Edgar 4. Guida 5. Griffin Welterweight: 1. Kampmann 2. Swick 3. Fitch 4. Hardy 5. Thiago Middleweight: 1. Okami 2. Henderson 3. Marquardt 4. Maia 5. Bisping Light Heavyweight: 1. Jackson 2. Griffin 3. Evans 4. Franklin 5. Cane Heavyweight: 1. Carwin 2. Couture 3. Velasquez 4. Nogueira 5. dos Santos

LW: 1. Edgar 2. Sanchez 3. Maynard 4. Guida 5. Sherk
WW: 1. Swick 2. Kampmann 3. Hardy 4. Fitch 5. Davis
MW: 1. Marquardt 2. Maia 3. Okami 4. Hendo 5. Bisping
LHW: 1. Shogun 2. Rampage 3. Franklin 4. Evans 5. Cane
HW: 1. Carwin 2.Velasquez 3. Couture 4. Nogueira 5. Dos Santos
Of all the divisions I would now say that MW is now the most stacked. With Akiyama coming in and Dana talking about Vitor, I think Anderson is going to have to work harder to keep is belt.

I pretty much agree with the lists you all made...
And I might be the only one...but I think Joe Lauzon is top 5 contender....just not sure who he would replace...Guida maybe...

True Dat, I can understand you not being sold on Paulo Thiago, but if he beats Jon Fitch how could you not be?
He would be debuting in the ufc with wins over Fitch and Koschek, there is nothing flukey about that. This is not baseball, this is mma.

How in the world are you putting Edgar at number 1 when Maynard beat him straight up?
And at least for the moment, Forrest Griffin has to be in the ufc top 5.

He lost to maynard yes...but since then he has picked up bigger wins. Beating Sherk, and Franca. When Maynard beat Clementi, who is out of the ufc, and Jim Miller.

That does not matter and it does not add up. He beat Edgar and Gray is still undefeated. There is no justification for putting Edgar above him, its makes your credibility take a major hit, and I am not as much a fan of Maynard as I am Edgar.
And again, how in the world do you not have Forrest in the ufc top 5, when he is recognized as a world top 5 lhw.
Dude, I 100% disagree with both of those.
