The only person I could think of was Dan Miller, or maybe Chael Sonnen.

I think either would be able to take him down and finish him . I like the Bisping fight personally, and i would take Patrick unless Bisping could get it to the ground. If Bisping loses to Hendo, and Cote isn't ready yet, i would like McFedries /Bisping in the interim.

I don't see any reason to drop him down the ladder, how about winner of Sexyama/Belcher ?

leben/cote II, if he wants right back into contender status cote/marquardt/maia winner or cote/hendo/bisping winner, hell even the loser of those fights, i thinks he has plenty of interesting match ups cant wait for his return

I would like to see him fight Okami, W. Silva, or Akiyama/Belcher winner..more so Okami that way we could see who deserves to be next in line.

Its hard for me to think he would stand a chance vs Okami or Marquart I feel these 2 alone would beat him by keeping him on the ground

I think he would have a good chance against Okami because Patrick's clinch game has impressed me his last couple fights.

I think Henderson would be a bad match-up and would Lay and Pray to a UD.

I am not sure about Bisping in terms of how Patrick would fare, but I think it is a reasonable match-up.

I think Marquardt, is a little out of Patrick's league right now in terms of ranking/title shot so I think that putative match-up is irrelevant at this time.

Based on Sonnen's last performance I don't see him getting an easy win over Patrick.

Maia, I don't know. I don't think his takedowns are top notch and his striking is so so compared to some other guys in the division. I think Patrick would fight a smart fight and come away with a KO or UD

I think the Leben fight is too much of a step back for Patrick at this time. If Patrick loses his first fight back and Leben wins his upcoming fight then I think that would be a good match-up.

Some of the other names sounded reasonable too.

I think he needs a reality check after all the credit he gave himself in the Silva fight.
Definitely throw him back in at the deep end against Wandy or Bisping /Hendo loser.

I definitely dont think a fight with Quarry would be bad, Im just not interested... Regardless of the Belcher/Akiyama outcome, I would love to see Cote and Akiyama throw down... and actually I think Wandy and Belcher would be a great fight, too. You may not agree with that, but i think both fights would be fireworks. Stylistically the Cote/Akiyama fight would be sick. Plus, it would be good for Wandy to fight someone like Belcher in his first fight at 185. Belcher's no pushover, but I think its a fight Wandy would win AND still look very exciting and fresh, possibly setting up the Wandy/Anderson fight. On the flip side, Belcher would have a huge (deserved, I might add) opportunity to finally reach possible contender status at 185. Thoughts?
