Coming into season six of The Ultimate Fighter, Mac Danzig was believed to be one of the most well rounded and respected guys out of any season. An early favorite to win, he showed the versatility which would be essential for a fighter exiting TUF and transitioning into the big show that is the UFC.

Submitting runner-up Tommy Speer en route to a six-figure contract with the 800-pound gorilla organization would mark his fourth submission victory in a row, including his three exhibition bouts during his time in the house. His exhibition wins included Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Joe Scarolla via triangle choke and the always tough John Kolosci twice by rear naked choke, none making it out of the first round.

He's putting the UFC in a hard spot, with him having the potential to lose 3 straight fights and him being a TUF winner.

But I think Mac wins a decision over Miller.

I think Danzig will be gone after losing this fight to Miller.

Ive been really impressed by his boxing lately, but it will be his wrestling that will decide this bout.

Sucks though, he beats up Tommy Speer and Mark Bocek and then loses to Guida...

He should've beat Neer, but got caught in a triangle...

Then he has to fight Jim Miller?

Thats 3 tough fights right there... even Bocek fight was a frickin war, so 4 tough fights

I have a feeling Miller is going to win this fight, but I wanna cheer for Danzig -- plus he's a huge underdog in the betting lines, with a very realistic chance of winning.

Besides Travis Lutter from the comebacks season, which I have trouble counting as a real TUF season, I don't think the UFC has ever cut a TUF winner. I think Miller will make Danzig the first. Stevenson wasn't far away, but he saved some time with the win over Diaz at the TUF 9 finale.

I think a cut of Danzig may have implications regarding the viability of the TV show to produce strong fighters, but that probably is just my TUF-is-tired bias in the last few seasons. Danzig is a good fighter and probably would have been signed even without the TV show in existence.

Maybe a move to 145, like Gamburyan? Is he too big to make that cut?

id be willing to bet he can make 145. his problem is he was the most ufc ready TUF winner since early on in the shows history and he got thrown to the wolves. if he does get run out of there hed be a great fit in the wec IMO. i dont like his chances against miller.

If Mac could fight at 145 that'd be crazy, seeing as how he won TUF in the WW class.

Im thinking maybe with these TUF winners maybe they dont get cut but like if they are on a losing streak, they go get a couple wins outside the UFC and then comeback.
