I know, I know, I know...it's totally *uncool* to listen to country music. That seems to be the popular opinion. I listen to all types of music and I personally say, "F*ck the popular opinion." You should, too.

So...who are some of your favorite bands/artists?

Mine?

Merle Haggard
Willie Nelson
Waylon Jennings
Confederate Railroad
Brooks & Dunn
Conway Twitty
Garth Brooks
Johnny Cash
Hank Williams
Hank Williams Jr.
Hank III
John Anderson
Randy Travis
George Strait
Clint Black
Charlie Daniels Band

...and tons more!

What about you? Have any suggestions/recommendations?

I grew up on rock and punk, and always hated country. As I got older I realized that there is a huge difference between country and many of the country played on the radio . I've since fell in love with country music. All the ones you've listed I like. Some others:
David Allan Coe
Steve Earle
Townes Van Zandt
Jason Boland and the Stragglers
Old Crow Medicine Show
Hayes Carll

Wish I didn't have to spread the love.

Much love to bluegrass, as well!

Bill Monroe
Old & In the Way
Del McCoury
Ralph Stanley
Ricky Skaggs
Old Crow Medicine Show
Cornmeal
Allison Krauss & Union Station
Earl Scruggs
Jerry Douglas
Sam Bush

Wow...I love me some 'grass!

HA!!

I gotta say, country music may be the only genre of music I can genuinely say I have never heard one song I liked even a l ittle bit.

Of course, you must understand that my entire collection of music is essentially metal. It's about the only thing I listen to, which is kind of sad and ridiculous I understand especially at my age. Maybe one day I will let some other kinds of music start to fill in the gaps.

But I'm relatively sure it won't be country. Sorry.
