I had it:

1st: 10-8 Sanchez
2nd: 10-9 Guida( a close round though)
3rd: 10-9 Sanchez

Which would give Sanchez a 29-27 decision win, also I do believe one of the judges scored it this way as well.

Rd1: 10-8 Diego
Rd2: 10-9 Diego
Rd3: 10-9 Diego

I personally dont think Guida won any round in that fight. Sure he landed takedowns but Diego was doing more from the bottom and landing more effective strikes. I see the takedowns as Guida's only way to save himself from getting destroyed because honestly thats what was happening. Props to Clay though he has a brick for a chin!!!!!!

Where did the idea that 10-10 rounds are against the 10 point must system come from?

i was never aware that 10-10 rounds were allowed with MMA's adaptation of the 10 point must.....

Just makes me wonder why i have never seen one. i can think of plenty of rounds that could easily have been given a 10-10 scoring

I had it 29-27. I thought Guida was very effective in the 2nd round, and without question I think he won it pretty clearly. Diego had good elbows from the bottom. but Guida controlled where the fight went and landed some good relentless GnP.

Either way, the intensity before the fight, as well as the actual fight were incredible. When they were talking smack across the ring from each other--wow that was just epic--I loved it!

10-10 rounds are part of the 10 point must system people...

I must have it screwed up in another post then, but I thought 10-10 rounds aren't possible.

After doing some research it turns out that I guess I'm wrong. I can't think of a single time in my life when I've ever seen a 10-10 round, though.

Sanchez won the first round 10-8 for sure. Guida took the 2nd and Sanchez took the 3rd. The 3rd round was pretty close.

it comes from mike Goldberg saying that "in each round one fighter gets 10 points, his opponent 9 or less." at the start of an event. i had initially thought 10-10's were possible, then heard Goldberg over and over again so i thought differently, then i snapped out of my coma and realized 10-10s are possible.

they are extremely rare. there has been a few in the UFC, but none that were Unanimous. one judge scored a 10-10 round in Burkman vs Swick

but.........thats not possible?!?!

I voted 30-26 Diego. Guidas only offense was takedowns

I agree.I wonder if his current camp has taken him as far as he can go . i would love to see him train with Jackson, and see how much he would progress overall. He seems to be all balls, heart, chin, stamina, and wrestling right now. Someone with that kind of heart can go far on just what he has shown so far, but I think he could do with a change of scenery-from a training standpoint. Also a haircut. I think his hair gets obscures his vision too often, and also flies around whenever he gets hit, making some strokes look more damaging than they might actually be.

Ive seen that hair save him from triangle attempts before, so theres a benefit from it as well

Agreed. Plus, if you've ever rolled with a guy who has massive amounts of hair it can be really frustrating. It makes it feel like they're smothering you even worse than they already are. I HATE rolling with dudes who have long hair. It gets inside your mouth, in your eyes, everywhere. Drives me nuts.

I have had the discussion about Guida changing camps before, too. The only problem with this for me is that I feel like Guida draws a lot of his strength from his teammates. Not saying another camp wouldn't happily take him in, but I wonder mentally how it would affect Guida.

Not to bash on Guida, but I am just seriously unimpressed with his overall offensive finishing ability. If you give a guy like that some killer standup and jiu jitsu finishing ability, he could be a real force. Then again, though, I also wonder if he starts stepping out of his conservative game from a wrestling standpoint if he'll be as effective. So, maybe not the ground game, but definitely the standup. He needs major work there.

10-8 Sanchez - Sanchez nearly finished guida, dominated the rd
10-9 Guida - guida put diego on his back, and kept him there the entire rd, diego failed to escape and wasnt able to bring the fight back to standing.
10-9 Guida - guida outboxed diego and then took him down at the end of the rd and ended the rd impressively. he clearly won that rd, i dont care what anyone says

Didn't know that about the hair guys . Thanks
