I thought diego won rd 1, rd 2 imo clay won that rd, diego was on his back the entire rd and clay controlled his top position. Rd-3 clay outboxed diego imo, im actually surprised some people actually picked sachez in the 3rd, i thought clay clearly won that rd.

10-8
10-9
10-9

I should've been a draw.

That was a sick ass fight! Definitely fight of the year so far! OMG that 1st round was one of the greatest MMA rounds I have ever seen! The fn headkick was freakin deadly, how that did not kill Guida the world will never know! OMG I love that fight!

Diego definitely won that fight though. No draw or nothing about it. Who cares if Clay had top position! HE DIDNT DO SH%T ON TOP! He didnt use that position to his advantage. Diego did more damage on the bottom and was more active so he definitely won that 2nd round. I mean its not like the Hardy-Davis 3rd round when Hardy only lands a few elbows and inflicts a little damage to steal the whole round when davs was in control. Diego was CONSTANTLY elbowing from the bottom and staying busy attempting submissions. I think the 3rd round I gave to Clay though because he was aggressive in the exchanges and had that last takedown, but Diego had the 1st and 2nd rounds easily IMO.

Rd-3 clay outboxed diego imo,

i dont agree with that but even if he did, Diego was the aggressor and controlled where the fight took place until Clay got the TD with about 1:30 left.

Overall I think Diego won round 3 handily.

I do actually think that Clay outboxed Diego in the 3rd, well...at least landed the more crisp shots.
I can understand it being a draw, but at the same time understand it being a UD for Diego.

that just doesn't make sense to me. he got ouboxed, he got taken down, and he still wins the rd.

I actually thought Guida would have won round 3 if the judges were scoring like they normally do. That is, not giving points for submission attempts, and generally favoring striking and positioning over anything else. Guida clearly won the standup in rd 3, and he was on top. Just an observation.

Although I do feel like Diego definitely won the fight by any man's standards. All I can say is who is going to be hurting worse tomorrow? Guida for sure, IMO

Edit: I also made a post yesterday stating that people would be showing Guida love today... lo and behold This game is all about style matchups. What is a boring LnP artist against Nate Diaz becomes a ferocious, granite chinned, cardio machine against Diego Sanchez

That fight made the event, honestly the other fights on the card left me feeling they all could have been better. Sanchez won 10-8 10-9 10-10 IMO.(going to go watch it again to see if that changes)

So the big question was if enough to get himself a title shot?

It was exciting for sure but was it dominating enough to leapfrog above Edger who just beat Sherk, I dont think it was and because this is a business I think the sets up a rematch with Kenflo for the title shot. In the meantime give Frankie his chance and you have to toss in Grays name somewhere...

He only got taken down after Diego had sprawled from earlier shots. Diego had octagon control.

Diego landed the more significant shots in the round. According to the MMA judging criteria, harder shots are scored higher than landing more shots.

Diego was the aggressor for 75% of the round. Clay spent most of the round just countering Diego and never once in the round tried to finish.

The round according the the NSAC's criteria for judging, clearly Diego was the dominant fighter in the 3rd round.

By unified MMA rules, there can not be a 10-10 round. Each round must have a winner except in the case of points deducted. I.E. there can be a 9-9 round, but not a 10-10

Strange I thought I herd Rogan say they can score 10-10 rounds, I'm actually sure he said it on the last UFC event.
I still feel that last round was a tie and that Diago won the first two rounds.

Yeah, each round has to have a round winner. If he said that he was wrong

Rogan said the fight could've been a draw, because if diego won rd1 10-8 and clay rd2-3 10-9.
