"Somebody’s gotta have that rough road, and I guess that’s me. Somebody’s gotta live that roller coaster, and I pretty much perfected it at this point from the day I was born. One of the biggest promises that I made is I’m not going to be that guy that retires and then comes back..."

His record looks like Ken Shamrocks 1-6 in his last 7 fights, yikes.

I feel bad for the guy, he has a great skill set but he just dosnt have the explosive speed it takes to hang with the young bucks at 145, hell he would probably be better off going back up to 155. I think if he wanted to be successful in mma again he would have to leave the ufc and go fight with lesser competition and possibly leave mfs to train with different fighters on a regular basis. It wont happen, Jens is a stand up guy and loyal as hell to his camp and promotion so I think in this case he just needs to hang it up and start training fighters.

I hate to see Jens retire, but I would say that would be the best decision for him.IMO

He really should retire and focus on becoming an ambassador for the sport. He could do a LOT of good, and make MUCH more of an impact outside the ring, than in it at this point.

He still has a lot of options to make money, might not be the same tax bracket but at least he wont have to work at McDonald's.

They should give the guy a commentary job in the UFC or the WEC, so long as he's involved somehow after he's gone. Jens is my favourite fighter and although it's gonna suck to see him go he's accomplished enough already and nobody needs to see him lose anymore. Here's to a good career Jens
