I had it 29-28 hardy but assumed it was about a 50/50 coin flip going to the judges.

I wouldn't have been disappointed with either way the decision went and I think the rematch won't be as close since both guys don't want another decision.

close fight but i did have davis winning
i do think the judges are a tad biased over seas giving the fights to them on their home turf hence bisping over hamill and hardy over gono

Surprisingly the 2 US judges gave it to Bisping, and the one UK judge gave it to Hamill in that fight.

It was close--Marcus coming up wobbly after the elbow probably lost him the fight. It's hard to argue the decision, because Hardy did the most damage--without question, but Marcus controlled the fight for longer periods of time.

If I were Marcus, I wouldn't have shaken his hand either. Hardy had been talking a lot, and he just felt like he won the fight--I don't know at that point it's hard to swallow.

I was even rooting for Marcus Davis and I scored this one for Dan Hardy, he did more damage.

Yeah, becouse Hardys home turf is Germany

If anything, given the history between the England and Germany, and rivalry between the two in any sporting event, if anything, a decision to please the home crowd would of gone to Davis.

Pride scored fights based on damage. That doesn't matter as much in the UFC. Hardy landed the elbow and the knee, but davis had more control over the fight. He had more takedowns, and more submission attempts, along with being pretty equal in the exchanges. Just because one strike cut davis, and none of davis' strikes cut hardy doesn't mean the round goes to hardy. You may not agree with that, but that's the way scoring in the UFC is SUPPOSED to work.

According to the UFC scoring is based on effective striking, grappling, agression and octagon control.
That being said I would say powerful damaging shots should be scored higer n UFC standards,
But hey what do I know I am just a fan.

Well,i almost agree with that statement.I think he won closer to half of the fight in terms of points. While Hardy showed alot of octogon control by dicatating where the fight went.Do i smell rematch, while not the same hype as more elite fighters rematch,it could still prove to be what all fights should be which is fan friendly and exciting.

Davis kind of screwed himself, he should have realized hardy was the better standup fighter and kept it on the ground in the 3rd round he really screwed himself by going for that ankle lock in the 3rd if he just was content with ground n pound (sort of) he would have been on top for maybe another minute and the judges would have had no choice but to give him the fight

Check out the Fight Metric

They score the "Fight Metric Winner" as Hardy. This is scored by total Fight Metric points accumulated in the fight. HOWEVER, in 10 point must they score it 29-28 for Davis. Check the stats, he landed more shots, and had better control of the grappling.

Davis landed 104 strikes to Hardy's 73, had more takedowns, and more sub attempts.

He should really just let it go. In my opinion the right man one and Davis just needs to back off now and also some one needs to let him know that should fight in more places and not just places that have a shamrock symbol because he wants to be Irish. I'm part Irish to but that doesn't mean i have to fight in Ireland. This is kind of going to far now. Davis is kind of looking like a jack ass. Thats just my opinion though. Many think different. Not all of the other fighters get to fight where they want but they still fight. I'm sure BJ Penn would love to fight in Hawaii but its not up to him its up to the people who signs his checks. Davis just needs to let it go.

it was a close fight and could have gone either way. If Davis doesnt like the results he should have finished the fight. I had it 29-28 Davis but I could see it being 29-28 Hardy. But over all I felt if you truly take the way fights should be scored in the UFC Davis won but thats the funny thing about judges is each of them seam to make up their own scoring system.

Exactly. I've been pretty frustrated with this style Davis has recently developed. I don't know if he became tentative after Swick took it to him or what, but he certainly hasn't looked like the Davis of old in his last few fights.
