Carwin has a similar skillset to Cain, except Carwin is bigger and has KO power, so I don't really want to see that matchup. I'd rather see Cain VS Gonzaga or something.

Cain was throwing Kongo around like a ragdoll but I think he would be a monster @ 205. He should fight Gonzaga next.

Gonzaga would get owned by Cain. I didn't believe all the hype about Cain coming into the fight but he showed great wrestling, a solid chin, good GnP and great cardio. I am a believer now

He was very hyped but compared to the hype Cain did not impress me against Kongo. He showed that he could wrestle but I knew that already, and the other things he showed weren't so good.
It looked like he knows how to buckle when he gets punched, and he seems to have a lack of power in his GnP.
His performance looked somewhat like Brock's against Herring but without the huge punch in the first round and if Brock had let Herring hit him hard in the face once or twice each round .
Maybe Cain needs to work on his stand-up so he doesn't get KOed soon?

I think most people are underrating Kongo's standup. Not overrating Velasquez's.

Kongo is a long dude who strikes well backing up, and he's got a lot of power in his hands. Cain showed some good head movement on the way in, and he trapped Kongo against the cage pretty easily with his footwork. He just got caught by a long-armed and powerful striker a couple times.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see him tune up his striking, but he's only been at it for 3 years. He'll get better. Nothing but up for this guy.

not trying to be a wise ass, but carmello marrero and auserrio silva threw him around too, they just weren't able to do much once they got him down while cain pretty much hit him with whatever he wanted to.

Cain is a monster on the ground but his chin looked weak which makes me think that when he fights guys like lesnar mir or carwin he will be going to sleep.

Velasquez vs Gonzaga would be a sick fight.

Velasquez didn't really impress me last night. He was good on the ground, but Carmelo Marrero held Kongo down also. Kongos ground game is horrible and he can't stop anyone from taking him down.

Velasquezs stand up looked horrible. He continuely moved forward and tried to throw big shot after big shot and no matter what Cain says he was hurt. If Kongo could have kept the fight standing more that 30 second he WOULD have knocked Cain out.

I think Velasquez vs. Carwin is definetally the next step to see who gets a title shot after Lesnar vs. Mir.

Lets see how Velasquez does when he can't take someone down.
