I gotta go with Final Fantasy Tactics. I also played one with a damn good story but quite fewer options, called Vandal Hearts.

For me its the Total war games hands down. Medieval and Rome where really awesome games, I was hooked on both for a long time. I really enjoyed Metal Gear Acid! aswell.

I have Civilization: Revolution for ***. It's definitely a fun game if you're winning. Frustrating as hell if you lose though.
