The champion stopped by MMAWeekly Radio recently, and disclosed that all in total he had two hand surgeries, two pins, six screws, and a plate inserted into his hand, a broken blood vessel in his eye, and a broken foot. All told at this point, Varner says he is about a month out from being able to punch again on his broken hand, and then he's ready to get back into camp and fight.
"September's when I'm looking to get back in there," Varner said. "I'm thinking the WEC will have me headline the card in September, and I'm hoping for that. I'm going to start training coming into this next week."

The article seems to point directly at Cerrone. If you remember, directly after their bout Varner had said they'll do it again. I can't see the WEC not wanting to pit them against each other, either. Fans want to see it, fighters want to do it, and bad blood is brewing. It's kind of sad how this all went down. Varner and Cerrone were cool before their last fight, and now there's just some straight up bad blood.
"If it's Cowboy, I'd love to shut him up. I'd love to shut all of his fans up. Whoever his web manager is, I'd like to smash his face in, too," stated Varner. "You go to his website, they have him down as 10-0 on his website. So funny, I'm pretty sure he's 9-1 cause if he was 10-0 he'd have a world title sitting on his mantle."
Regardless of how you feel about the illegal knee, it was a hell of a battle last time. Varner pretty clearly dominated, but will he be able to do that again? How much will anger change the dynamics of the fight? It's going to be a war

When he threw the knee it was legal, by the time it landed it was illegal.
But if he fights Cowboy again, he'll lose. It'll be a hell of a fight though.

He should face the Cowboy again. This time the Cowboy wins hands down.

The only other WEC 155er looking close to a shot is Benson Henderson, and I don't like fighters that talk about how pretty they are, so I say Cerrone better get it.

Isnt Donald fighting at the next WEC event? So I would say if he wins and doesnt get hurt it will prolly be him.
