UFC president Dana White announced at the UFC 98 post-fight press conference that former light heavyweight titleholder Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will get the first crack at newly crowned Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida's belt. Speculation immediately arose whether Jackson and Machida would be coaches on the next season of the Spike TV reality show "The Ultimate Fighter."
White was asked point blank at the press conference if the coaches for the tenth season of the show had been picked. White confirmed they have been chosen, but wouldn't divulge any names.
"I'm not going to tell you. We start filming on the first and there's a media day on like the second or third. All your questions will be answered then," said White.
Jackson let the cat out of the bag on his Twitter account (twitter.com/rampage4real) late Wednesday night that he was a coach on the upcoming season.
It read, "Packing my stuff to move to Vegas to coach TUF!!"

He's making me look like a genius for calling him & Machida coaching months back...can't wait to hear how many times he says he's gonna whoop "La Cheetah's" ass during the season.

Lyoto Machida's official website says that his next fight is September 2009 against Quinton Jackson. I wonder if there's some turmoil from the Machida camp on coaching.

I wish they would use fighters that weren't title holders in TUF. I know it's a ratings slide if they use fighters that aren't involved in a title fight, but I don't like waiting for big fights.

Its good for Machida to pick up some more fans and publicity. However, the guy barely speaks any english, so it might make things very difficult on his part, and for us as well. People had concerns about Nog before he did the show, and Machida is 10x worse than Nog.

It's getting better though as he showed after and leading up to 98. Then again, didn't we all say similar about Anderson Silva as well?

I wish they would use fighters that weren't title holders in TUF.
According to Fighters Only Magazine, Machida's manager Ed Soares said that he will not be a coach on the next season of The Ultimate Fighters.
The article speculates that Machida will face Shogun in September and that Rampage and Evens will be the coaches on TUF.

Uh, point out where in that article you linked to that it says Rua will face Machida next. I only found this:
UFC president Dana White has already announced that Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson will be getting the first shot at Machida's newly acquired title.

And now it appears Machida won't coach TUF 10. Rashad will.

Its good for Machida to pick up some more fans and publicity. However, the guy barely speaks any english, so it might make things very difficult on his part, and for us as well. People had concerns about Nog before he did the show, and Machida is 10x worse than Nog.
Ay least Machida is trying to learn english, that's more than I can say for A. Silva. Silva has been champ for years now and still can't speak the language.

I called this months back. I said Evans will lose to Machida, and then the two of them will coach tough for a number one contenders shot...

He's spoken English between TUF and UFC events. Not much, but he has.

I like the idea of seeing Machida on TUF but man this is the 2nd time in less than a year that the top two 205ers are put on hold. Why not do Anderson vs a Top LHW or MW or GSP vs one of your top WW.
