Now that Lyoto Machida has cemented himself as the #1 light heavyweight in the world, the next step for him is to defend his title, and possibly build his reputation with more fans all over the world.

A natural step to build that bridge would seem to be placing Machida on the next season of the "Ultimate Fighter" reality show, and have him opposite his next opponent, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who previously served on the show during season 7.

UFC president Dana White was asked point blank if the coaches for the tenth season of the show had been picked, and while he was able to confirm they have been chosen, he wouldn't divulge any names.

"I'm not going to tell you. We start filming on the 1st and there's a media day on like the 2nd or 3rd. All your questions will be answered then," White responded.

Damn it!!! Quit putting the belts on hold, this is getting so freakin old.if you want coaches sign the 2nd and 3rd contenders for the task then have them battle it out for the next title shot.

Anyone else hear that this will be the last year of The Ultimate Fighter Show??

It's not likely to be the end. When the show got renewed the pickup was through what would be the 12th edition. So there are 3 more seasons left.

I don't think Machida is the # 1 LHW until he beats Rampage. I think Page is #1 and Machida is #2 at this point. Anyone agree?

I don't think there really is a true #1 lightheavyweight in the world due to the lack of consistency we have seen with the belts so I am going to give it to machida until someone else proves otherwise, because no one has proven they can beat him.

Rampage said he didnt like making excuses and explained that the tuf show gave him too much time off so if he takes the gig im gonna ignore what he had to say after the forrest loss. I personally hope it's like the #1 and #2 contenders

i disagree. Rampage is still only 2 wins removed from his loss to Forrest and has shown considerable weaknesses in his game such as his lack of foot movement and his ability to get out pointed from a distance. Machida has shown no weakness at all and the only variable with him is his chin, and the only reason that is a variable is because he never gets hit. Machida has proven more than Rampage has recently and imo is the undisputed #1 LHW.

Not sure why they threw in that headline, as Dana didn't allude to anything that would make one think it's Page vs Machida.

I would really like to see Wanderlei coach a season eventually.

Now that I would tune in to watch. Especially if there was a special guest appearance from the Weems!

Now I really like Rampage but I hate the fact that he has to fight Machida, if he think taking kicks from Forrest was bad then he's gonna have trouble taking them from Machida and not being able to hit back as he was able to catch Forest from exchange to exchange.

Tiki Ghosn has already confirmed on his website that he will be an assistant coach for Rampage's team on TUF 10, so it's definately rampage against somebody.
