While he hasn't made a decision either way, there is a chance that Matt Serra could retire from fighting after the Matt Hughes fight at UFC 98. He wouldn't leave MMA completely as he'd stay active through teaching at his schools, but according to Serra it's a possiblity-after he fights Hughes then has some pizza & pasta for the first time in 3 months.

If either of them lose badly they should retire.

The winner, and possibly the loser if it's a competitive fight, should fight once more at least.

Well after the mma community realizes how outclassed Serra is by Hughes they will be wanting him to retire. Everyone is down on Hughes because of his recent losses at the hands of top tier competition. Serra is a siginificant step down in opponents. This will be a world class beating put on by Hughes...but I am a little bias.

In all honesty no matter what happens this could be the last time we see either in the cage.

I have to disagree here, I see the underrated Serra coming into this fight fired up and grabbing a TKO in round 2 :)

I think they both may take another fight or two after this fight. Depending on who they get matched up against.

In my opinion this one should be Serra`s last. By the time he fights it will be his 3rd in two years. He`s injury plagued and doesnt seem dedicated. I hope Hughes shuts him up once and for all and despite him being a former champ does anyone think that they`ll send him packing with a loss? I guess the same can be said of Hughes?

Anyone know if Serra's back is all healed up? If he comes in 100% he's got a good chance. I know the injury was a while ago but those types have a way of lingering for years.

i hope this is matt serra's last fight, just dont like the guy at all

matt hughes should also retire soon he no longer possesses the skill set to hang with top competition, and i would rather see him retire then fight lower tier competition.

You know, am I the only one getting the feeling that, regardless of who wins the fight, both fighters are going to retire that night?
