according to mma weekly looks like james irvin will face wison at ufc 102
chael is facing miller at ufc 98

i think this is a better fight, should make pay per view portion
if wilson would play it smart he would try to sub james and not try to bang away with him

Irvin by mauling. Irvin is the better striker(when hes not trying to brawl anyways) and has the power advantage for sure. But with James Irvin's luck he'll probly end up trying to do a kick and tearing his ankle apart somehow....

Irvin needs a rematch with Thiago Silva to get that win he should have easily been able to obtain, then give Cane the rematch and see how the fight ends without the illegal knee. Anyone know what prompted Irvin to drop to 185?

This is good for James. I thought he would have had a very tough fight on his hands if he fought McFedries. Wilson is going to come straight at him and swing wild. Irvin should be able to set up a good counter. Should be a great fight.

Wilson by whatever he wants.

He is much better on the ground and can take it there whenever he wants..as Irvin doesn't have the best TDD

Wilson also has a durable chin, until he gasses towards the end of the fight...but I don't see it going that far...also Wilson has the heavier hands of the two I think...Irvin may have better Muay Thai, but Wilsons hands may be one of the heaviest at MW in the UFC..

I think he drops Irvin within the first 90 seconds.

Both great strikers, but I think Wilson's jj will be too much for irvin here. As soon as it hits the ground its over.

That's a joke, right? Wilson is a very technical striker with good footwork and great leg kicks.

He is right about Wilson comming straight at him....although i disagree with the rest of that.

So is this at 185? IM not even sure Irvin can make that weight lol......what 8-10 month layoff for irvin, first time at 185, and all that might lead to a lackluster debut at this weight/ trouble making weight and having anything left. If the fight goes late i expect Wilson to grind out a dec, if it ends early its gonna be with one of them catching the other for a KO/TKO stoppage.....

Not sure who im picking, leading toward WIlson if its at 185.....but i may take Irvin i think he is slightly better.

When Wilson is on he can beat anyone at 185 except Silva. I expect Irvin to get frustrated on the feet despite having a reach advantage and look for a takedown. He'll then also get frustrated on the ground and end up geting submitted.
