Check out the updated Dream 9 card that features a brand new "Super Hulk" Grand Prix.

Only in Japan folks. Dream seems to have completed their line up for Dream 9, which is just a few weeks away on May 26th, and there are some peculiar additions, to say the least.

I would order this card if i could

Mark Hunt v. Mousasi? Really? Tough Fight for Mousasi...

Hong Man Choi v. Jose Canseco? REALLY?...ffs that is going to be brutal...

& Jz, Kawajiri, Kid, Jacare, Sokoudjou, & Imanari are on this card...

Would rather have seen Soko fight Sapp and Minowa fight Nortje, but regardless theres little chance this card could dissappoint.

Am I the only one that things the entire Super Hulk tourney is a joke? They scraped Mousasi vs. Soko, which was actually a competative match-up, to have them fight super heavy weights? Mousasi just moved up from MW, so I doubt hes going to weight in at much more than 205lbs, and Soko is fighting a professional boxer who will probably have a foot of reach on him. Minowa does this circus stuff all the time, but why throw two decent MMA fighters into this?

As for Canseco, that is the biggest throw away fight I've ever heard of. You might as well have Hong Man Choi fight four midgets for all the athletic appeal a bout with Canseco has. There is literally nothing Canseco can do to Choi to injure him in any way.

you do have a point, but as you stated Soko although the much better mma fighter is still going to have a challenge in nortje... and Mousasi might not even get past Hunt, so you turn 1 competitive match-up into 2, that also have major appeal as far as ratings go.

The next round of the tourny is going to have some killer match-ups IMO

what you talk about pookie. Mousasi will totally dominate Hunt, in every aspect of the word IMO. There's absolutely no reason to believe that Hunt has a legit chance of beating Mousasi with his last performances, I said it once i'll say it again, Hunt is way past his prime and we'll just have proof of that at dream 9.

I'm not too certain that Japanese fans care as much about rankings as western fans do. I've kind of noticed this trend in fight matchups that makes it seem like this is the case. Seems like they appreciate an exciting fight over the ranking ladders.

Who wouldn't want to see HMC beat Canseco's face in? This is going to be awesome. Also, I would guess that Mousasi weighs in around 220 since he was probably already cutting from 195-200 to get to 185

GREATEST CARD EVER!! I'm just saying now, don't sleep on Canseco because he does have good boxing and he's been doing BJJ for years now.
