Fedor was basically playing with Aoki. He allowed him to get sub attempts like a flying armbar, a leg lock attempt, and even takedowns like the double leg and a nice seoi-nage. Watching it though, you could very much tell that Fedor was allowing Aoki live and catch stuff for the sake of the fans. It didn’t stop him from picking him up and slamming him all around the place though, locking up subs of his own before letting go to stand back up. There was one instance where Fedor pounded the ground with a huge fist, right next to Aoki’s head—kind of a sign that, “hey, I can stop this at any moment, kiddo.” Both were all smiles all the way through the exhibition though, so I imagine they were having lots of fun.

not really surprising at all. The size difference was just too big. Seemed like sort of a pointless matchup, but it doesn't delay either fighters' MMA schedule so meh. I just want to see Fedor fight in the UFC. Overeem is the only matchup outside of the UFC that interests me anymore.

For fun. thats the only reason this happend, I dont see why everyone was so against it. Imagine Ali and sugar ray leonard had a friendly exibition match back in the day. people would still be talking about it. I cant wait to see the footage. I think it would be cool if every major org matched up their champs in freindly non contact matches. imagine Lesnar vs BJ in a JJ match now honestly who wouldnt wanna see that on a live spike event, it would be nothing but fun and good times for everyone.

You'd seriously want to see that? Since it didn't hold up either's schedule I don't really care that it happened, but it's pointless. I think "every major org mach[ing] up champs in friendly non contact matches" is a VERY lame idea.

You have a very shrowded view of entertainment dude. Honestly why wouldent you wanna see the #1 heavyweight vs the #2 lightweight in a JJ match Thats what JJ and MMA were based upon man, crazy match ups, The little guy using JJ to try and beat a bigger guy. Now why wouldent you wanna see that at one of the highest levels possible and against very well known mma fighters, at a time when MMA and JJ are at their peak. Im watching this match asap. why not?

I dunno, JJ is kind of an equal playing field. Exhibition matches are fun to watch, kind of like when I go out and play hockey with my friends who are in the NHL, I know they're going to score but it's still fun to play.

EDIT: Side note, Fedor doesn't look that much bigger then Aoki lol.

I agree with Bustin...it would be very entertaining...and it wouldn't demand the fighters to due any extra training or weigh in so it could be done very easily
