I honestly don't see Silva KOing Griffin, I could see silva pulling out a close decision and the same with Forrest. Its gunna be a good fight nonetheless and I'll be routing for Griffin.

I think Forrest might have bit off a little more then he can chew!!!

People said that when he was going to fight Shogun but he rose to the occasion (granted shogun wasnt 100%). people said it again when he fought Rampage, but again forrest rose to the occasion.

When Forrest is an underdog watchout...

I think Forrest is completely capable of winning this fight he is one of the biggest fighters at 205 and Anderson just weighed in at 182.

plus i am cheering for forrest to win, so Anderson will wake up for his next fights

My first reaction was Silva by ko. Once Forrest gets hit with a few good shots it seems like he likes to brawl. That would not work out well with Silva. But the more I look at it, Forrest should fight a smart fight and use his size to his advantage. Even though Griffin doesn't have too many ko's on his record, I want to see how Silva takes a punch by someone who will weigh 20-30 pounds more than him.

In a three rounder,I like Forrest by decision.I don't think ya'll realize what the size difference is going to be in this fight.Forrest DWARFED Rampage Jackson.I think Forrest takes Anderson down and roughs him up with ground and pound, and works a lot of dirty boxing up against the fence. It will be very hard for Silva to pull off his usual Thai plum antics against a guy who is going to be 2-3 inches taller and 20+ pounds heavier.

Could Anderson KO Forrest? You bet.But he's going to actually need to hit him to do that, and that's something he hasn't done to either of his last opponents.

WB.

if I'm not mistaken forest is 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) and Silva is 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) so he only has a 1 inch height advantage

and the reach is almost identical Silva actually has a 1cm advantage at 77.5 in (197 cm) and forest 77.0 in (196 cm)

this info is from wiki and they a links to the sources on there page

and i don't think the weight should be much of a problem for Silva to deal with as Silva got up to 230 pound before the cote fight they are both huge for the weight class

sadly i think UFCs cover boy gets destroyed again in this fight the way Jardine did it

makes me wonder why there seting it up but as a fan this is great fight

Ed Soares: Silva vs. Griffin at UFC 101 is "the type of fight we want to take"

The recent news that UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva's next fight will be against former light heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin may have come as a shock to most, but Silva's manager, Ed Soares, today told MMAjunkie.com the fight is exactly what "The Spider" has needed. "I think Forrest Griffin is a big light heavyweight, and I think it's going to be a great fight," Soares said. "He's a guy that makes it exciting. He leaves everything out in the octagon, and that's the type of fight we want to take."

I'd really love to see this fight happen! Forrest is one of my favorite fighters and wouldn't dance around with Silva for 3 rounds. He's going to bring it. That's not to say he won't bring it and get knocked out. It just means we won't see no damn snooze fest like Silvas last fight.

But, you can never count Griffin out in a figth like this either. Randy Couture is the master at gameplans and believe me Forrest will not come to this fight unprepared. He will have the best gameplan of any fighter against Silva.

For once I will cheer on Griffen even if I like Silva much better then Griffen. Why?
Well two fold really:
To shut up Dana White with going on about Silva being P4P best ( maybe Jardine is too unpredictable a fighter and could very well take a Win over Silva where as Griffen does like to brawl and swing?)
Secondly, it will hopefully light a fire under Silvas arse and we see a great performance by him when he realises there are a lot more challenges for him.

I think Forrest leaves himself wide open far too often to survive with Anderson. Yes he has been boring in his last 2 fights, but look at the strikes he DID throw... They all land square on his opponent's head. An aggressive brawler with poor defense vs an incredibly accurate counter-puncher?

Looks like a pretty perfect matchup for Anderson to me.

Anderson might not have been very active in either fight but he still decisively beat both of them. Forrest is the kind of fighter who is not going to sit on the outside and wait either, so a finish is far more likely.
