Although the deal isn't done yet, the cable network Versus and WEC are closing in on at least a 2-year extension of their contract. The deal also will ilkely give versus.com the rights to air prelim fights that do not air on TV as part of WEC events.

That likely is still happening, but the plan as far as I know has always been to at least keep the Versus deal going at the same time. They'd only do a couple of PPVs a year starting out.

Don't they air prelims already on WEC Wreckage?

I suppose it's good news. I think if Zuffa wants the WEC on PPV though, perhaps a slightly bigger network would have been worth a look.
