Figured I'd add this considering Overeem and Manhoef's inclusions on the card.

Looks like the MMA guys didn't fair so well this time around. Bummer about Manhoef.

Overeem excelled. He took away Bonjasky's kicks and was throwing him and cornering him 'til he was caught with a punch in the third round and fell. You could see the disappointment on his face as the scorecards slipped away from him, because he was thoroughly tooling the three-time grand prix winner until then. I don't think he looked terrible at all.

Manhoef's a different story. He just walked into Maeda's punch.

Damn. I really wanted to see Overeem pull off the win here...oh well I guess, no shame in losing to Bonjasky...

Now I want to see Alistair come back to MMA.

not ALL the mma guys lost... schilt pulled off a decision

overeem looked as good as he could against a man like remy, although i think if he was more aggressive he could've cought remy. he had a nice upkick to remy's face though. It sucks he got dropped in the 3rd in what looked like a weak punch

Remy looked terrible in there against Overeem. I think Overeem's weight leaning on him took a lot out of his game. Overeem did a good job of squishing Remy's range, too.

I'm really disappointed in Remy's performance, personally. He's so much better than that, but he seemed off his game. I think Overeem is becoming such a physically imposing force who puts so much pressure on his opponents that it's totally throwing them off.

Overeem's standup looked a lot better, but IMO he still looked pretty top heavy and his defense for body shots didn't look great (although he mixed it up with kicks pretty good) Still, a damn good performance against a guy who by all appearances of their credentials should have completely murdered him.

After an excellent performance like this from Overeem it makes me wonder if he'll keep doing kickboxing matches or not. He proved a hell of a lot in there, and IMO with a performance like this combined with his performance against Badr Hari he doesn't need to prove a whole lot more to the kickboxing community

Well, you could argue both, but I would say that he's currently dedicated to K-1.

Semmy started off professionally in MMA first, but you're probably talking about the lack of success in MMA opposed to K-1, I assume.

Maybe i'm the only one but I thought Alistair looked terrible. He's so slow, he could barley get his knee up near Remy's head lol, I dunno he's just to heavy IMO, he looked alot like Bob Sapp. If he wants to keep fighting under K-1 rules he needs to quit clinching and tripping, that pisses me off lol. I didn't think Remy looked great but considering the state of his knee he fought well.

I know very little about K-1 but I was wondering when are they going to take a point if he keeps breaking the rules? Didn't seem fair he was waring a guy down using tactics that are not allowed in the sport.

When asked what his impressions of Manhoef are Maeda answered that he (Maeda) is in big trouble. Manhoef is the fighter that he wanted to fight the least out of anyone.

lol

Lol he was in trouble, I thought it was over when Melvin had him rocked but he landed one juuuust right. As for the breaking of the rules, Kakuda is a bit of a shitty ref(even though he's a big name and very important to K-1 lol), the leg sweeps don't lead to a yellow card, but the constant clinching should have...All in all it was a boring fight and Overeem would get dusted by Aerts, a healthy Remy and just about any of the top guys, he's just not on that level(like big bob). Overeem should drop down to 235ish he's just to big.
