Several fighters and managers have contacted FiveOuncesOfPain.com in recent days informing the site that they have been approached by Affliction officials about the possibility of accepting restructured contracts in order to compete on the show.

According to the sources, Affliction wants to reduce it overhead for a potential third event so that it could host it on a network or basic cable television platform, as it would be next to impossible to convince PPV distributors to promote an event that would be in direct competition with the UFC.

How do you expect to compete with lesnar and gsp headlining a card? Arguably the two biggest ppv draws in mma, not to mention THE FACT THAT ITS UFC 100. Does affliction realize the marketing push that's going to be behind this?

If this is legit I think affliction knows that if their 3rd event isnt hugely successful then it'll probably be their last. What they'll try and do is take all the hype behind mma/ufc at that time and try to steal sales via network tv. What would be absolutely hilarious is if affliction solidified their deal with the network and ufc came by back putting ufc 100 live on spike. That level of advertising revenue could rival superbowl money could it not? Not to mention it would be the final nail in the affliction coffin.

ufc 100 will never end up free on spike, no matter what affliction does...

to counter program one of ufc's biggest events doesnt make any sense, i doubt this will happen...

Do Affliction enjoy losing money?? What a dumb idea. Going up against a UFC PPV is one thing but going up against UFC 100 is something else...
