Andrew Martin, best known for his days as Test in WWE, has been found dead in his apartment at the age of 33. He would have been 34 in four days. Authorities in Tampa, Florida, where Martin lived, have not provided any details yet. They have stated that a body was found in a condo, but have not confirmed that the body in question was Martin, however multiple people within the wrestling industry have confirmed that it was Martin's body that was found.

Martin was released from WWE back in February of 2007 after failing a drug test. He then worked for TNA but was not offered a contract and went on to work a bit in Japan.

411 would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of Andrew Martin.

Another brother gone way too soon...I was surprised to hear he was only 33, he looked a bit older. He was a big guy when he debuted about 9-10 years back, I best remember him early on as part of a tag team with Prince Albert (now wrestling in Japan as Giant Bernard) who was managed by Trish Stratus (retired). His moment in the spotlight was when he was to get "married" to Stephanie McMahon until Triple H crashed the party last-minute and wrecked everything.

Haven't found anything yet about the cause of death but, as is often the case with these wrestler deaths, I fear it's either suicide or drug related.

What's with the failed drug test getting him kicked out? When did they start doing that and how are some of these guys not failing? LOL

Anyway, though.. didn't know the guy but it's always sad to hear about someone dying when they're so young. I hope there's minimal controversy around the death. I was a big Benoit fan back in the day and the way he went out really disturbed a lot of fans

A few years ago, they call it their "Wellness Policy". Fail 1 drug test, suspended a month. Fail 2, suspended even longer among other things. Any more, fired. It's something Vince came up with to keep Congress off them over steroid use allegations.

Makes sense, I guess. Don't the majority of wrestling fans believe that most guys are still on the roids, though?

Yes, or at least the "smarks/smart marks" like myself. Definitely the bigger or bigger-looking guys, or if they are they sure do a good job of hiding it.

Nothing's official yet but based on several articles and newsbits I've read, signs seem to be pointing to it being drug-related. Whether it was an overdose or something else we don't yet know.

I read somewhere that they found a **** load of different pain killers in his apartment and that he might have mixed them.

From Wikipedia

On March 13, 2009, Martin was found dead in his Tampa apartment. His death was later ruled as an accidental overdose of Oxycodone by the medical examiner's office in Hillsborough County, Florida.

I liked Test he was a very intence fighter, and quite atheletic for a big guy. His big boot finish always looked good.

Its sad news.

Playboy Buddy Rose died today in Vancouver Washington of apparently being too fat for his age. This is a sad day for Portland Wrestling.
