In perhaps the first setback of his UFC career, Shane Carwin will be out of training and action for 6-8 weeks due to injuries suffered against Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 96.

or his nose
you could tell instantly Carwin broke his nose by the way it was bleeding. it doesn't surprise me that he has a deviated septum because he took a flush shot from a heavy hitter. i hope he gets to recover 100% and make a healthy return to the octagon.

Someone didnt read the article....
Two months out isn't too bad, I just hope the surgery doesnt keep him out of training for too long. I will be eagerly anticipating his return

I was born with a deviated septum and actually had to have the surgery to correct one of them because of a nasty sinus infection I got. It's pretty standard surgery and he should have a very fast recovery.

Well we know he can take a hell of a punch now. He shouldnt be bothered for long with this injury. He will get some down time. it will give Mir and Lesnar a chance to fight then he goes in to fight for number one against loser of Mir/Lesnar or winner of Nog/Randy. maybe evem KONGO?

that really kinda sucks for him.. cuz a fight might come along in the next 2 months that could move him one step closer to a shot at the title.. and now he might miss that fight.. lame..

That's too bad. He probably wouldn't have fought in 2 months anyway. That's like 2 UFCs.
