Though he came up short on judges’ scorecards, Keith Jardine won a moral victory against Quinton Jackson at UFC 96 by sticking with the game plan and staying in the fight when things got tough.

“The fight went pretty close to the way I thought it would go,” Jardine said at the UFC 96 post-fight presser.

In the past, he had paid for straying from his plan. Wanderlei Silva ended his night early at UFC 84 when he went against coaches’ advice, exposing himself to punches with a leg kick.

I like Jardine, but I don't see him ever holding the belt. Its a shame too because he's always willing to fight and is always respectful... Also he looks like a viking

He'll be back. Jardine is one of my favourite fighters but I'd glad Rampage won so he can beat Rashad or Machida whoever it has to be to get his title back.

I have heard multiple people say that he lost the fight in the last 10 seconds but I just dont see where anyone would think that. In my opinion Jackson dominated the whole fight. There was one moment when Jardine had him up against the fence but it appeared that Jackson was tired more than hurt. Jackson dropped him twice and took him down a few times. It's fine to be upset with a loss but there is no way he lost it in the last 10 seconds. Its possible that it could have been a split decision and not a UD but he still wouldnt have won the fight.
