I think Shogun has to win for the good of the ufc if he does not he most likely get kicked out.As for chuck he is 39 now and not hte same iceman we all new.Chuck needs to beat shogun then win again before he gets a title shot and i just dont think he is not up to it.I wud like to see him prove me wrong a win the title back but if it does not get that far he is done.So there is no point him beating shogun then getting beat in his next fight or even in a title fight so he is then kicked out the door to and the ufc has lost 2 great fighters.Unless we see a chuck vs wandy style fight with chuck winning and shogun keeping his job its going to be a sad day for ufc.

Well he is only 1 and 1 in the UFC and his loss is to a former champ and top 5 LHW... Could be worse I guess, but definitley isn't a bust so far...

Shogun's young, and now that he's got that 1st win out of the way the pressure will ease up on him and he can start being himself more... I would think with the amount of pride Brazilian fighters bring to this sport, it's going to be a major point for him to avenge his friend Wanderlei's loss to Chuck... This should be a great fight and I think we'll see the old Shogun back.... If I'm wrong, maybe he can go beat up Tito in Affliction or something

I dont think if he loses he will be out of the ufc. His big name notoriaty will warrant him being kept around, maybe against mid-level competition. If he loses, he's definately out as a belt contender though.

To be considered the number 1 LHW on the planet and come in to the UFC and gas out early in both fights cannot be good on your rank. I truely believe in Shougn, but he has disapointed me quite a bit. He's still young, he still has that potential, but where is the old Shogun hiding? It's time for him to take himself seriously and crawl out of his shell.

Personally, I think that Liddell is stylistically a bad matchup for Shogun. Both guys need the win badly but the loser won't be out of the UFC.

I see it the opposite, I think Shogun has more ways of winning this assuming he gets his tank and or explosiveness completely back. With Chuck you kind of know what hes going to do, keep his hands low and counter or look for a KO if not then its up to his opponent to come up with an answer. Page and Shad are powerful punchers but Jardine came up with a great plan to wear down Chuck using leg kicks, Shogun will likely use this strategy. Who knows if Shogun can take Chuck down but he can pull guard and roll for a kneebar or maybe a sweep etc, its not impossible to submit Chuck.

Lots of people don't know it but chuck actually has some sick leg locks. So I doubt he'll get caught in one. I see chuck making Shogun pay for his aggression and low hands. If coleman can land a punch so can chuck, but chuck still only needs one. As they say in boxing, power is the last thing to go.

he hasnt been the same guy thats for sure he looks slower, less fit and less explosive. i think it has more to do with him than the cage or the ufc. remember what he did 2 rampage? this doesnt look like the same guy

In my eyes both of these fighters are at a point in their careers where retirement might be a good option. Now knowing that big name MMA stars love fighting late into their 40s and ruining their names(Besides Couture of course), neither of them will.It would be perfect for Chuck to beat Shogun(ranked top 10 in most light heavy rankings) and leave on top.

P.S. Shogun shouldnt be a top ten fighter for matches he fought years ago, Coleman is a joke, and so was that fight.

I don't think he'll be out but he definitely won't be thought of as probably top 5 lucky if he makes the top 10. And I'm scared he's training with Damien Maia and that should be a good thing but I don't see it that way!

I think maybe hel think his best chance is too sub Chuck he'll he'll get beat badly just at that thought. Because we all know Shogun is not a great wrestler and Chuck defends takedowns from world class wrestlers in his sleep and if he shoots he'll get in that damn awkward position where he'll on all 4's. he always seems to find a way to be in that position like against Forrest. And from their Chuck will tee off and stop em. I think his best chance is strike with him, key word strike not box with em like Wandy did. If he mixes his strikes up he'll kick Chuck's butt, I almost gurantee it. But if he shoots or just punches Chuck will stop em.

But I don't think he'll be out, he'll just get an up and comer next if he loses to be the gatekeeper for them.

I wanna see the old chuck back. He needs his hunger back. Young or old you got to want it.
