this is also gonna be a very good FW tourney..can't predict a winner for this one as i have for the Dream FW tourney..there's alot of fighters that could take this one..and i see alot of good fights in the openin round of this tourney..as where Dream..alot of the better, bigger fights are done down the road of the tourney..i'm really interest in seein how Phan does against Kadowaki..as i like Phan since he only really loses to top tier fighters..whats ya'll thoughts on this tourney....

Looks like a pretty good tournament, cant wait to see the opening matches.
I pick Hioki, Davis, or Phan to take the whole thing.

That's a pretty bold predictions to put Hideki in the finals. I think he could very well pull the upset against Phan, but he's a longshot.
Depending on how it plays out I'd say LC Davis vs Marlon Sandro in the finals.

I'm hoping to ride the LC Express to the end, I think Davis has a good shot to take it all. Sandro should do well, he's got a solid resume and he's also the Featherweight King Of Pancrase, so he's got maybe higher expectations.

Sorry I forgot to mention that this is what I would like to happen but don't think will actually play out like that, but how is it that the former Shooto Champ is an Underdog to Phan, it is kinda wierd to see how odds work in your favor and sometimes they don't lol

I suppose he's the underdog because Phan is dropping a weight division and he's gone up against stiffer competition like Josh Thomson. Personally I've never really been that impressed with Hideki's TD offense, so I could see Phan working him over in the standup. I think he'll make it out of the first round but I would put at least four guys ahead of him as tournament favorites...probably Hioki,Sandro, LC, and Chang Sung Jung (my own darkhorse).
That said I probably spoke a little out of turn by pinning Phan as the favorite when it's probably more of an even..at least in terms of betting lines.
I've heard that this is basically Hioki and Kadowaki's tournament to lose, but I just don't see it playing out like that.

Since this thread's already here, the TV schedule has been announced: The event airs LIVE on HDNet Friday at 3 AM ET with replays at 10 PM ET and Saturday at 4 PM ET.
Also, this event is actually Sengoku 7. The one we thought was 7 a couple months ago was actually called Sengoku No Ran. Of course nobody told us until it was too late.

some people have been sayin that Dream put on a better tourney..but if u really look at it..Sengoku has more ranked figters and known fighters in their tourney..but i do like Dream's tourney also..just wanted to clear the air on that..both are great tourney..but i think Sengoku has better fighters...

Its definitely arguable, but Sengoku's is more consistent through and through

I thought it was interesting to note that Tetsuya Yamada is still a senior in High School. I think they're hoping for a big upset, but he has a huge test in front of him.

The things that make Sengoku so good is that: 1) This is actually a FW GP and not some 139lb nonsense. DREAM asked Kid what weight he wanted the tourney at and that was Kid's answer. That doesn't strike me as fair... which brings me to my next point 2) Sengoku is not giving any byes into the second round. 3) Sengoku's tourney is made of almost all great young prospects. The name power might not be there, but these fighters have the better chance at some day reaching the top of the FW class.
