FERTITTAS BUY PRIDE
The Japanese newspapers reported today in Tokyo, Japan that the UFC has bought Pride. The UFC/Pride rumor has been circulating for awhile, but the deal appears to be done.

Wow.
This must be final confirmation, yeah?
A supershow sounds great and keeping the promotions separate so as not to antagonize fans on either side as well.
30-40.000 for the live gate is something to invest in I suppose.

hopefully they dont have the same people make the fights that make them for ufc, tired of ufc protecting fighters just to build them up a little more with some wins

Its too early to tell if this is good or bad. We will just have to wait and see, so far it sounds like this could be an awesome thing.
I like the idea of running them as separate orgs, with a super fight once in a while. The only problem I see is that Pride, now bought by an American company, will lose steam with the Japanese audience. But who knows???
