Werdum says he is in negotiations to fight on the May Strikeforce card, to be broadcast on Showtime and it's possible he could fight Kimbo.

yeh i saw that........what a fall.. from being in line to fight for the title...one bad KO...gets cut rumored to fight for affliction for a big pay day....now this....
i respect strikeforce, but a kimbo fight would be a joke ( i thought kevin furgoson quit MMA for K-1 anyway)

I think the best move to bulid Kimbos career would be to have him fight lower down the ladder guys more at his skill level. Were is the point in watching him get taken down and subbed by a guy with way more skill and way more experience?
I am no way a Kimbo fan or one of those guys who thought he was the P4P greatest, but i still would like to see him progress in the sport and hopefully one day be a legit mixed martial artist.

There are too many top fighters that are trying to get a fight with Kimbo. Newsflash guys, Seth already exposed Kimbo's game, and there really isn't any hype left so stop challenging the guy.

For serious? I sure hope Kimbo's people council him away from taking this fight. That guy does not have the skills to deal with Werdum. Just because he got knocked out by Dos Santos does not mean he is weak right now, or any less of a threat to any of the top 10 heavyweights. Just a little while ago this guy was being touted as the 'dark horse' challenger for the UFC belt, now with one loss he's on the bricks. Kimbo is not a serious MMA fighter, he needs much more experience to even be considered against good opposition. I understand he's not even training with Bas anymore, where is he even training now? That's the thing about the UFC, sure they have their problems, but it's pretty rare you see a blatant mismatch between two athletes, especially one everyone is cognizant of from the time it's announced.
I know, I know, what about Coleman vs. Shogun, well that was a mismatch on paper, but seeing how bad Shogun looked and how long it took him to put away Coleman .. I don't even know. If that had gone the distance, maybe Coleman wins a split. "this is hard to watch ... his hands are so low"

I know this seems like a lopsided joke match to most and I agree but this is the exposure Fabricio needs to start getting back in the swing. I dont know how or why hes outta the top 10 just because he lost to Dos Santos but beating Kimbo is only good for his career and I like watching just about any MMA so bring it on Strikeforce Im excited for the matchups.
Besides who here isnt glad they arnt giving Kimbo a can? Time for Kimbo to sink or swim moving way up in competition.

if the athletic commission has any integrity they won't let this happen. remember back in 2007 when Frank Mir was supposed to rematch Sylvia and the athletic commission shut it down because there was too big of a "skill disparity". if they don't shut this one down idk what to say.

Kimbo is even a top 20 HW why they would put the two against each other is beyond me. All I can say for Kimbo is Sprawl Sprawl Sprawl.

Kimbo lost a fight to Seth Petruluzzi on a flask KO followed by good strikes to the noggin. However, he also beat a few guys and took shots from them as well---Tank, Thompson, and some other weak competition. Werdum isn't "weak" competition but his last fight saw him getting KO'd. I think that this would be interesting. I have Werdum winning by a lot but I had Werdum winning when he fought Dos Santos. That's why you FIGHT the fights in the ring and not on paper. It would be different if Kimbo was coming off of 4 KO losses in the past year or something. Either way, I would watch it for curiosity factor. Will Werdum annihilate Kimbo? I think that will be the outcome, but I am a fight fan---let fighters fight---talkers can just talk.
