Great liver shot brow good fight.. my only advice.. Its never over till the ref says its over.. .. that kid got up after a few moments but you should not have celebrated until it was stopped.. over all though you looked good..

I was telling you (by telepathy) to throw a kick with your rear leg for a minute and a half :).

Good job. I could tell you were going to do well just from your stance and the way you held your hands. It didn't look like the other guy landed a single shot. I think you're going to have a lot of success at that level and hopefully the levels above if you keep fighting.

You may have to adjust your stance a bit with your lead leg not so far forward if you fight a guy who's looking to take you down, but that wasn't a concern with the guy you fought.

Thanks (and props) for posting that.

were you fighting a home town boy? sounds like it from the way the crowd reacted to him losing. but congrats on the win.

Yeah he was the hometown guy the fights were in chillicothe so i was about 75 miles out of my comfort zone there and those fans were brutal. A liver kick couldnt even please them lol

I train out of Walker MMA in Ohio. Right now we are at the Prodigy Training center in springboro but we are in the process of switching gyms. I have mostly been focusing on muay thai because i have a wrestling background and have been kind of on and off training bjj for a few years and jsut started training to fight mma about 6 months ago and i wanted to be well rounded so mostly thai is my focus but bjj three times a week, thai three times a week, and mma sparring every friday. I try to do some form of hard conditioning outside of classes at least twice a week and run before or after class a lot too. I also go in to my high school team's wrestling practices every once in a while to try and stay fairly sharp on my wrestling.

This is something I always had kind of a problem with in wrestling too i am jsut really comfortable with a very staggered stance.i try to fix it but i just end up there no matter what. I have good single leg defense and counters but when i fight like a college wrestler or something i will have to square up more. I have plenty of time to learn and adjust though as i am still pretty new to the sport as far as really training to compete.

Way to go Ref. When a fighter drops and doesnt move........... a fight should be over. Good Job on the kick though.

I wasn't able to watch it. YouTube says it is private. From what everyone else said though it sounds like you did a good job. Congrats.
