Well, it looks like I will be having ACL surgery next week. I have had a history of bad luck with my knees. I have already had two knee surgeries… meniscectomies on both knees. Those surgeries were relatively simple because they just go in arthoscopically and shave down the meniscus. There is no stitching and no repairing done.
The surgery scheduled for next week will not be so simple. Unlike the last two times, I will need my meniscus repaired. Instead of just shaving that little piece out, they will be stitching it up and getting it to sit back in place.

Damn shame. He'll be back though, and he'll continue to climb, no matter where this puts him as far as the title shot is concerned.

Thankfully he's young yet. I just hope he's got enough irons in the fire at his own gym to keep money flowing in. Cause those sponsorship checks won't be in the mailbox for quite some time.
Good luck Joe!

That's terrible, such an incredibly long time in terms of MMA. I wonder what part of training messes up your knees that badly.

Sucks to hear. Good luck to a safe and productive recovery. He's not my fav but he's grown on me, and he's a hometown guy who has helped push local mma a lot around here. Much love, Jah bless, and godspeed Joe. Here's drinking to a speedy recovery.

I was really hoping he'd fight Huerta soon. Especially with the bad blood brewing.
