Some big name fighters have been linked to the UFC in the past few months. In a recent conversation with Dana White, he commented on the status of the fighters.
To start, the UFC is looking to bring in some Japanese talent to the promotion. They are very close to a new deal with Caol Uno, with published reports indicating he could return to the UFC at UFC 99. The UFC has also expressed major interest in both Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto and Satoshi Ishii.
However, one guy White has not had discussions with is the former PRIDE lightweight champion Takanori Gomi.
“I haven’t talked with Gomi,” stated White.

Gomi would be a wast at this point with him having a couple of loses. Two years ago this would have been great but now it would be hard for them to build him up in the USA.

i disagree man, he is still a fun fight to watch and has some good talent although he dont seem to prepare like the elite fighters do. im not saying break the bank for him but if they could sign him to a respectable deal i'd say go for it. dont forget that ufc is saying they are going to japan and he would be a big draw for them there. germany is home for 99 and he could also help there.

I hope Fedor is fricking realistic and does not ask Dana to build a MMA arena in St Petersburg AGAIN, what an idiot, great fighter, but maybe that Randleman slam knocked something loose.
I am also with Dana I think this Finklestein guy is screwing everything up with raising Fedor's expectations
