I don't like showboating either, especially when the showboater is tooling the other guy. I don't think this was showboating. I believe Neer was trying to get Damzig into a brawl. It worked!

I've come to dislike most crowds. I was watching highlights on Inside MMA. They introduce this guy who was like 0-0 or something dumb like that. The crowd was booing. I am thinking they probably didn't even know the guy

I didn't get all the booing either. Neer put on a good show and brought the fight to Danzig the entire time.

Josh Neer is a TUF killer( excluding Nate). I'm not a real big fan of his but I know every time the dude fights its up for fight of the night. I would guess it was the "gamesmanship" he was showing... and maybe I'm thinking too much but could his recent DUI play role in it?

Thats interesting, hes arguably beaten 3 TUF winners now (Diaz's fight being very close) and I could care less about showboating or gamesmanship, it comes with the territory and Im glad people agree, this isnt dodgeball or cooking class this is MMA.

At some point, I think Neer atually felt bad for Danzig, and even tried to even things up by giving himself a few pops...what a guy .

haha I remember seeing this last night and laughing my ass off

Would give props but i gotta spread the love.

Does anyone know if there are any other cases of self-inflicted GnP in MMA history? If not that is going in the record books.

I don't think there is anything wrong with taunting. It isn't the same as showboating, thats what Broc Lesnar did after the Heath Herring fight. All he was doing was trying to draw his opponent in, make him sloppy, hopefully land some good counters. I don't know why that would bother people and most of the booing was after he won. I think it was probably a bunch of danzig fans. I know i wanted mac to win, but Josh did a great job.
