Why all the hate for Josh Neer? |

I was kind of blown away by all the booing when Josh Neer won tonight. He might not be the most personable guy but he brought it big time and put on a heck of a show. Anyone who has followed Josh's career knows that he always shows up to fight and is as tough as anyone in MMA.
Any haters out there care to explain themselves?

Well I'm no hater, I thought he had a great fight, and the showboatting(which is why a few people I know got mad) was okay by me, people should just stop overeacting to/at it.

I'm not a big fan of showboating either, I think it's pretty disrespectful, although when I heard him explain afterwards that he was upset about a headbutt that wasn't called it made more sense and seemed a bit more understandable to me. Sometimes when you're upset and feel that you were wronged in some way you don't really care about being sportsmanlike anymore. I'm sure Mac didn't headbutt him on purpose though.

Anyways, back to the topic... I can see why someone would get upset about the showboating, but I thought in this case it was good strategy. Neer wanted to close the distance and make it a war he could win. By taunting Mac he took him out of his game.

The booing had me confused. For a moment I was beginning to question whether we were in Danzigs hometown or something. Possibly just a bunch of TUF fans in the audience?
I guess Neer picked up a little something from Nate Diaz in their last bout. I personally like it. I don't really see it as showboating though--it's like a taunt--you know c'mon and bring it. Well he did, and he absolutely ran right through Danzig. I mean he had absolutely no respect for Danzig's power.
Hopefully he'll get some love on the forums, because that was an awesome performance tonight.

I don't understand the booing either. I have always been a Neer fan. He always brings the fight.

Neer totally impressed me. I knew he was dangerous off of his back I just didn't think Mac would fall into a triangle and twice at that. Neer is always looking to bring the fight and I enjoy a bit of the inviting in of Mac and I don't really see it as taunting. He just wanted him to bring it. Isn't that what it's about??

I like neer but he acted like a DICK, multiple times.....he wouldnt touch gloves at one point, he taunted the whole time etc. I lost respect for him because of this fight.

They didn't start booing him until Danzig went to touch gloves and he wouldn't do it. I like Neer, that was a damn good fight, but that's probably what did it.

I didnt think his "taunting" was bad at all. All he really was doing was walking in towad Mac with his chin first. mac could have ending the taunting but instead kept backing up. Whatever , I think Neer is going to be a force to reckon with. His BJJ looked great last night, and the guy is tough as nails. For his next fight i would loveto see him fight Guida, and beat him.
