This is a pretty hilarious story.

James Thomspon and Steve Bosse were to fight under only stand up rules, but the commission did not approve the rules, they technically it was an MMA fight, but all the fighters said they just stand up..

Thompson doesnt do any of this and causes a huge riot with beer cans and chairs being thrown into the ring..

Read the story.. its hilarious..

Typical Montreal, they lose a hockey game to the Bruins...they riot.

What a joke!

Establishing their rules with the Athletic commission should have been the first thing that was sorted

the funniest part of this to me, is that James thompson took the fight to the ground and won

Actually his opponent throwing beer cans at him probably tops that. rofl.

It's a shame this was such a debacle of an event. At least JT got to get all Romper Stomper on the goon for a bit until those classless ignorant "fans" started throwing beers and chairs. What crap.

I have a question that I am hoping the JT warwagon might be able to answer...

Was JT a part of the gentleman's agreement before the match? Was he aware that all the other fighters had agreed to abide by the intended rules?

I particularly liked this response, though I don't know what a "poof house" is!

"Any one whinging about it can go back to the poof house they came from and untie their knotted knickers and Steve Bosse is a blubbering vagina!"

Yea! What he said

classy response from Thompson. If the ref comes up to him before the fight and says "this is MMA rules" what is he supposed to do? The guys running the event should have either had an MMA event or they should've gotten their **** together in advance and had their own rules approved before setting everything up.

Got to respect the guy for placing the blame exactly where it belongs (the shoulders of the promoter) and not being upset with the fans for throwing beer bottles and chairs at him and trying to mob him for doing his job.

What a bunch of idiots! What was Thompson supposed to do. It was a MMA match. I would have done the same thing.
