There should be a minimum post count required to issue an avatar challenge/bet. I've gotten quite a few from people who never even post.
Weak.

I like this idea, or at least have classes where people can only make AV bets against people with similar post counts. For instance have ranges of 50 to 250, 250 to 1000 and 1000 and over. And you can only bet with some one in the same range as you.

the only problem is that post count doesn't translate into maturity all the time. it would also be very "discriminatory" against those who don't frequent the forums on a daily basis but still want to participate. i can see how an abundance of challenges can get annoying but i don't want any limits on the system just yet.

I I generally agree that minimum post counts are discriminatory. However, in this particular situation I could see why they would be warranted. A person who does not post in the forums effectively has no skin in the game. What would a person have to lose if they never post and wouldn't be affected at all by a lost av bet? For example, say I accept an av bet with a member with zero posts. If I win, the av I choose for the "0 poster" would never be seen anyways. If the "0 poster" wins then he gets to have his av on all 1850+ posts I have made and any future ones I may make. It makes for a very uneven bet.
Of course the simple way to avoid that situation is to not accept a bet like that. But if you are constantly bombarded with requests from people with no skin in the game it can be frustrating that those with nothing to lose are taking your time.

Thanks for clarifying this.

One thing I'd like to ask of people since I've gotten a couple of av bet requests...please do not send me any. I'm locked into my current av for 3 more months therefore I can't change it before then...well, not without getting on ADMIN's bad side. Probably not a good idea. Sorry, folks.
