Less than two days removed from his successful welterweight title defense, Georges St. Pierre is already in the throes of another battle. Only, this one revolves around Vaseline.

B.J. Penn's corner alleges St. Pierre's trainers greased his back in between rounds, and SI.com learned earlier today that Penn's camp plans to file a formal complaint with Nevada State Athletic Commission.

St. Pierre sat down with SI.com to tell his side of the controversy, discuss his scientific gameplan and his thoughts on B.J. Penn.

WAR GSP !!

I say BJ gonna make a foul of himself ( if it is not already done ) and the worst thing will happen to him when GSP gonna literally kill him in another fight next years, i really predict that if BJ face GSP again, he gonna die in the cage, plain and simple.

me too, it's pretty clear that the stuff was wiped off before the round started. but i'm used to crap like this being a patriots fan, the media did the same thing with spy gate, completely blown out of proportion.

Oh I agree 100%......Like I said if you actually think Vaseline had anything to do with the outcome of this fight you're blind/retarded.....and if BJ and his camp actually think it affected their game plan, lets do it again and BJ can wear a Gi. George will still run through him like a hot knife through butter.....

"The Penn camp says their approach to the fight was to go to the ground with you and work the guard, the rubber guard."

I don't believe it for a second. BJ was fighting those takedowns for his life, until it got so easy that he couldn't do anything to defend it. And why would that be his strategy for this fight, if the last fight with GSP he lost because he was out wrestled. If it didn't work then it won't work now.

Oh we were gonna use rubber guard to beat him...the vaseline made us loooose

Bull ****, BJ, bull ****.

GSP should just fight him again and shut BJ and his fans up. otherwise we'll never hear the end of it.

its not just bj making abig deal of this. watch dana's last vlog on 94 and read what kizer said. its quite abig deal when you have the tv show of 3 weeks leading all these newer fans to buy then a form of cheating happens? not good at all. kizer said dana may ban gsp's cornermen for this. that sounds like its not just a wipe off but quite serious.

i dont think it mattered in the fight but its not just a boo hoo bj get over it deal either.

On Fight Network Radio today.....GSP acknowledges it was Chuck who pointed it out to everybody at ringside....A pretty good Matt Linland interview is in the first half......then GSP audio is on the back end.

Look this is like a guy who hits home runs naturally corking his bat. The guy doesn't need to cheat but for some reason his guys and him allow that to go on.
It doesn't make GSP less of a fighter but it isn't honest. He doesn't need to cheat. He shouldn't have any of that if he has integrity. The rules are clear you can't grease yourself up. It's also clear that the commission thinks it's a big deal and so does Dana. Interestingly enough, Dana deflects the "cheating" away from GSP and onto the cornerman who gets scapegoated for what is clearly a strategy that people have commented on before. This goes deeper than that and what it goes to isn't whether someone has the capacity to win--it's the integrity of the fight game and the fighters. I don't want to watch people cheat. Ironically GSP doesn't even need it but a LOT of his past opponents commented on it.

Call it what it is, penalize him for it, and make sure it never happens again. Then he can go back to pulverizing people without the need to cheat.
