UFC veteran Kimo Leopoldo has put himself forward as a candidate for the vacant post of Executive Officer of the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).
He put his application in last week and says it was made “in tune with President Obama’s call for much needed change”.

Athletic commisions should work to put more retired fighters on their board. I think it would be a step in the right direction.

Kimo has tested positive for steroids as recent as 2006. I think that displays how much respect he has for the rules in place. Now he wants to be in charge of the rules? That's insane. No way should he be involved in running any athletic commision.

Sure, he has the experince as a mixed martial artist, but he also has a shady past and the reputation of a rule breaker. I do not think he would be a good fit as the head of, or any other position in the CSAC.

Putting a Former Fighter who twice tested postive for Banned substance is the equivalent of - Letting a Felon Convicted of Assaulting a police officer become a police officer.

This article just made me laugh my ass off.
He's doing a Tito and just trying to get his name out there, by any means possible.

I don't mean to offend you but, the police officer analogy is terrible. This is more in the right direction...."a person who has broken laws...then becomes a police officer". That is what Kimo is attempting. I don't think Kimo should be in there for different reasons not because of his steroid past. He may have fight experience but I don't think he has what it takes in other areas....I may be wrong. You realize you guys are saying people can't change and don't deserve any chances to prove they have changed. I really can't stand Kimo...I never have liked him...but I don't think his steroid past alone should bar him from working in the CSAC. Let his actions speak...not his past.

A pretty good predictor of future actions is to base them on past actions... We can learn from history if we just try ;)

I cant see this happening. This guy was a shoty fighter with a shady past in MMA. He belongs nowhere near a athletic commision seat.
