Crazy fight, Its so hard to pick a winner but due to Thiago's strength and his improved td defense i think he can pummel GSP on the feet for five rounds and if he did get taken down he has a bjj background so he could scramble to the feet and be in his comfort zone.
Alves - UD or late tko

personally I think this will be a cooler fight then the St.Pierre vs Penn fight for sure!
although Pierre is obviously an amazing athlete, and very well versed...I think Thiago uses leg kciks to soften Pierre up a bit..and ends up landing a big knee in he middle of the fight dropping Pierre.
WAR ALVES

GSP by MURDER, a complete and total demolition of Alves face , body and will. Alves striking is good but not compare to GSP. Alves is big but GSP is as big and stronger everywhere. Alves looked hard to take down against Koscheck but GSP gonna wide the floor with Alves back at will. As for the BJJ, make me laugh, Alves is nowhere close to the level of GSP. GSP 's ability of executing the master game plan is miles ahead of anybody in mma. And last thing but not the less, GSP conditioning is light years ahead of Alves will ever be. Fitch destroyed Alves, ok it was a while ago but i would repick Fitch to beat Alves at anytime and remember how Fitch got schooled by GSP.

Fitch Didnt destroy Alves, Alves was winning the fight and got caught by an upkick. Or maybe the drugs have finally started to catch up with my brain not quite sure anymore.

Very tought fight to call. Alves has a clear striking advantage, and GSP has a clear grappling advantage. I know Alves has a blackbelt and all, but, well, so does BJ and he couldnt stop GSP from taking him down and passing guard.
I guess it comes down to cant GSP take Alves down, and can Alves go five rounds after the huge weight cut he has to make? I just cant pick against GSP at this point though, so Id pick him via UD.

I'm gonna boldly predict GSP cannot take Alves down, maybe one or two times but he will spring up fast if that happens. Definatly a more competitive fight than a WW fighting a LW, but two guys who cut from 190-220+ will be Georges weakness imo, which is why an Anderson fight would not make sense, he probably cant lay on Anderson for 5 rounds.

Alves has a purple belt in BJJ. His ground game is not very good, but because his sprawl is top notch, the fight virtually never hits the ground. If GSP could get him to the ground, which I believe he could because of how good his wrestling is, he can and will submit Thiago.

I definitely think it will be a submission from Georges.

I'm not sure of my prediction just yet... i'll have to wait and see if GSP's cornerman are planning on applying more Vasoline on his back or not.

In GSP recent fights, he hasn't fought any big standup guys.
Matt hughes: Decent standup, but relies on his wrestling Matt serra: Has a big right hand, but comes from a BJJ background Kos: Wrestler Fitch: Wrestler w/ exceptional standup BJ: Yeah BJ standup is good, but nowhere near Alves.
Alves on the other hand, is MT specialist, so this will be very interesting to see what happens on the feet. On Alves takedown defense, very good. But, i cant see GSP getting stopped from anyones takedown defense at this moment. Best wrestler in MMA. Took down Kos,Fitch,Hughes,And you could say BJ with ease.
Strength wise, i really dont know, i think GSP will have the heart and lungs throughout the fight, but Alves is BIG dude. Could easily overpower him. Very hard prediction for this fight.
My opinion: GSP by Unaminous or Ref stoppage. GnP all day.
On a side note; GSP is one of my favorite fighters, and will definetly go down to be one of the best.
