A rematch between WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner and number one contender Donald Cerrone is already in the planning stages, according to a CBSSports.com report by FiveOuncesOfPain.com and 15Rounds.com contributor Gary Herman.

WEC Vice President Peter Dropick not only confirmed the possible rematch, but said that Varner’s home state of Arizona is being considered as a potential destination.

Yeah I was about to say, do we even know if varner can continue fighting. But atleast there will be an immediate rematch and Cerrone wont have to travel far to AZ from NM.

I guess this means his career threatening injuries aren't as bad as they were originally thought to be?Which is good news in it self if thats the case.As this should be a pretty highly anticipated rematch.

I have come to notice in many cases lately the inital injury reports on fighters seem to be a bit over the top.. now I do not know if that is because the doctors are be cautious or medical technology and such is better then many realize.. I just hope he is able to return and this rematch does happen sooner then later.
