More than an hour after his third-round submission loss to Josh Barnett, Gilbert Yvel took his seat at the "Affliction: Day of Reckoning" post-event press conference.

Despite a swollen face, busted lip and trickles of blood coming from his mouth, the heavyweight fighter was neither dejected nor remorseful.

In fact, for a fighter heavily criticized for his past in-fight antics, the slight smile coming from Yvel's busted mug almost gave a sense of relief.

It seems as though his childish and sometimes dangerous outbursts and antics from the past are exactly that, the past. He seems to have matured as a person. Maybe not neccessarliy as a fighter, but he gives the impression that his days of disrespect and uncontrolled actions are over. I hope he has wised up and has a different outlook on the fight game. Props to Yvel, he was composed and respectful and when you give respect you get respect. Yvel earned some respect from me for this.

Probably didnt hurt that him and Josh Barnett were friends, both seemed to have alot of respect for each other before the fight.

I would love to see Yvel face Arloski next.
That would be a Heavy Weight war.

Its gotta be some combination of Arlovski, Buentello, Yvel at the next show. Maybe Rizzo v. Lil Fedor, but he's gotta improve his boxing. See the cool article on sherdog "prospectus caniblaiis"

maybe zentzov will fight, i think part of the deal is that another red devil member gets to fight alongside fedor... let kiril mature as a fighter first IMO
