wow, he had a great game plan and he was controlling the stand up and proved he can defend fedor's take downs, now i still think fedor would have subbed him even if he didn't try that ridiculous jumping knee but still, andre was doing nearly perfect and he messed it up with a terrible mistake, unfortunate for arlovski but it just goes to show you that you can't make any mistake against fedor or you're done. andre impressed me in defeat though and I wish he took the fight deeper because it was pretty interesting.

Did Fedor even go for a takedown?

he tried a couple of trips in the clinch and it was pretty much a stalemate.

Made the mistake of underestimating Fedor in the stand up. Make one mistake against Fedor and your done. War Fedor!

Yeah, Andre was pretty much controling the fight and was cruising to a 10-9 first round. I can't even say that was a big mistake though. Yeah, he probably shouldn't have tried it. But the fact of the matter was Fedor got lucky with that punch. He wasn't even looking when he threw that punch, if he would have missed that he was about to eat Arlovski's knee and say goodnight. Fedor looked slow in that fight and that was Arlovski's to win. Too bad hopefully we see a rematch. I'd pay to see it.
Doesn't look like we'll be seeing Barnett/ Fedor either. Fedor said at the end of the fight he wouldn't fight his friend Barnett. Hard to say where Affliction will go from here if there meal ticket won't even fight the #1 contender.

i don't think it was a lucky punch, fedor has landed shots like that too many times to call it lucky, his stand up looks a little wild but its worked for him for a long time.
but i still think aa would have eventually been submitted, i don't think he could have picked fedor apart the entire three rounds because he didn't hurt fedor that badly, he rocked him a little bit but he wasn't in danger of being knocked out.

I think Barnett and Fedor are going to fight.
Andre's mistake reminds of me of Faber's mistake against mike brown.

and it's going to be a great fight, i still think fedor will beat him but he might not finish him off. barnett may be the number 2 heavyweight in the world.

Very impressive. I was thinking AA was doing a good job but with a guy that has the chops of Fedor you need to be ready to be there for 5 rounds not a quickie KO. He can catch anyone---especially someone who has been KO'd before. I want to see him fight:
Coture Lesnar Barnett Mir
Then he can drop to 205 and fight some LT. heavyweight stud.

If's are all well and good, but Fedor didn't miss, he threw the shot, he made AA go buns up. And I think I was most shocked that AA looked to be going for a takedown....At least people are finally giving Fedor credit and not creating ways to take away from his wins.

I don't think it was a lucky or blind punch. Fedor hit him in the head! AA is at least 4 inches taller. And was jumping. So, unless Fedor has completely lost it and is throwing blind punches seven feet in the air, I believe he was aiming.

I definately think fedor meant the punch but i was desperate to see it go further with arlovski winning the round. As a heavyweight contest id prefer to see barnett vs lesnar because lesnar has wrestling as his background but i think barnett would beat him on the ground, which would make me delighted.

no, he just said they were friends and he wasnt thinking about his next fight right then, this will be the main event on the next affliction card.
andre looked good for sure, but ive heard several times now that he was "frustrating fedor", i dunno, to me it just looked like fedor was waiting for an opening and when it came he capitalized, i sensed ZERO frustration. i guess that everyone is just looking for chinks in his armor though, im just not sure theyre there.

Oh man AA looked pretty good that round, too bad he got ahead of himself. Fedor threw a nasty punch that I don't think was luck. I wish that had gone on a little longer though, would have been a entertaining fight, had it gone longer than one round.
