Sorry but Frank has this one, again. He has a ton of confidence and better conditioning. War Frank

I'll take the guy who is not the paper champion.

I think Lesnar will be great, but he a beat a 45-year-old who had not fought in a year and UFC gave him a belt. On the other hand, Frank Mir knocked out a man who had never been knocked out in his career and was regarded as a top-3 heavyweight.

Oh yeah....I think Mir beat this Lesnar guy before too.

I will take Frank.

Hmmm, i think Mir's confidence is too high on this one, yes i said TOO HIGH, usually it seems like his confidence is at the low end. I think that Brock will take this fight via TKO, I think he's going to connect with a big shot on Mir then finish him off on the ground.

Brocks advantage is too unfair. Im taking Brock even though I hate his guts. How do you train for this guy?

How is his advantage unfair? Mir is about 255 lbs, not that huge of a difference.

I don't think Lesnar makes the same mistakes this time around - he seems to be a smarter fighter. Mir will drop his hands too much in the later rounds - Lesnar by TKO late in round 3 or midway through 4.

Mir's too much for Bock anywhere the fight goes. Brock looked like he was hurt by Randy a couple of times. Brock is a monster, but his sub defense is still too green, and he's more heavy handed brawler than boxer.

Brock gets frustrated on the feet...takes Mir down...flurry of hammerfists...followed by armbar from Frank. That's the way I see it playing out at least.

Frank normally has awful conditioning. Look at their first fight, he was huffing and puffing during the interview, after what? 2 minutes?

Who would i prefer to win? Mir. Who do i think will win? Lesnar.

The first time they fought, Mir has a risky game plan... throw kicks to tempt the takedown, once on his back, scramble for the submission. It worked. Although the fight was only about a year ago, I think that Lesnar has grown the far more than Mir has.

The first time they met, Mir barely made it out alive and a lot of people think that it was he was very lucky. Lesnar was raining down those massive hammer fists that finished couture and Mir turned his head so that one of them hit him in the back of the head. That prompted the ref to step in and let Mir recover. Had that not happened, I could've easily seen Lesnar with the win.

A year later, lesnar's chin has been tested (randy cracked him with a couple good ones that only made brock swing back harder), he's shown a lot of patience and ground control against both herring and couture, and has shown that his standup is actually quite dangerous. Lesnar isnt the most techical guy on his feet, but he has great hand speed for a hw, and he's swinging cinderblocks. He rocked couture and then dropped him, both in the second round... something that neither sylvia and gonzaga who are accomplished strikers could manage.

I dont wanna take anything away from Mir's recent wins, but his win over Lesnar was when Lesnar was obviously green... a good win none the less, but not over the same opponent he'll face in 98. His win over nog demonstrated some very impressive/improved stand up... but we all know that nog didnt look the same... for whatever reasons. Still a good win for Mir, but in my eyes, not worth as much if nog we were more used to. Mir deserved both of his wins in every way, but when using those wins to analyze this next fight, those factors need to be taken into consideration.

I think (and Mir agrees) that Lesnar will be able to dictate where this fight goes. I also think that Lesnar will do everything in his power to make sure that he can avoid Mir's submissions on the ground, because he will see that as his greatest chance for Mir to win the fight. With his success in the stand up against herring and couture, I think that Lesnar will be confident in keeping the fight standing with Mir.

With that said, I think that Mir will have better technique on the feet and will probably be able to land more strikes with a lot of focus on the kicks to help stay out of range. Unfortunately for Mir, Lesnar really only needs to land one clean shot (apparently anywhere above the neck)... and i predict that it'll look very similar to how the couture/lesnar fight ended. If Mir can scramble fast enough while rocked then Mir might get defensive and simply maintain position to prevent a repeat of last time... but it'll only be a matter of time before Lesnar ends it in a similar fashion.
