Antonio ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira will not be facing Cheick Kongo at UFC 97 in Montreal, Fighters Only has learned.
Sources close to the Brazilian say he is still deciding when he will next fight, but it will not be against the French heavyweight.

well thats too bad, that would have been a good fight to see, and hopefully another highlight reel submission for nog....but who knows, with those eyesight rumors.....i hate that "nagging" injuries excuse, if your not going into a fight with nagging injuries, then you didnt train hard enough in my opionon....but staph infection is no joke....nog has never really had the best headmovement, but the mir fight was ridicolous....probably just everything catching up to him, hell the guy got ran over by a truck and was in a coma for months BEFORE he started fighting! ha

Don't the athletic commissions check for eyesight problems when the issue the fighter a license. Just curios.

Kongo can't get a break why would he want to fight Nog. Nog just lost and Kongo is back on a streak again. Every time he gets on one they get pushing fights at him till he loses one. Any fighter out there will tell you its harder to keep wining then to win one big fight. Example look how many time the LHW belt has changed hands since Chuck lost it. To bad for Kongo he should be fighting Gonzaga for the number one contender spot.
