Our buddy Robert at FreeFightVideos has a report that suggests a return to the UFC for Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic might be as simple as a win over Hong Man Choi on New Year’s Eve. Cro Cop has apparently been dropping hints lately that the fight at K-1 Dynamite will “end one chapter and start another” in his career, and insists he’s not retiring.

But Cro Cop has been increasingly vague about his plans for 2009, and when Dana White appeared on the “Best Damn Sports Show,” he stated that, “if [Cro Cop] wins, he will definitely be welcomed back into the UFC."

He still isn't ready in the Alastair fight he look just like he did in the UFC " like he didn't know what to do with a fighter". I would love to have the Pride Cro Cop in the UFC but not this one.

NO.....definitely not! He hasn't improved his ground game, or defeated a competent opponent convincingly. He's not ready for a return to the UFC yet, and I love watching him fight. Choi.....really people, C'MON!!!

let me hit you in the balls multiple times and see if you perform well, kongo is a dirty fighter and overeem probably would have won but that whole situation is over, cro cop will be back to form and im glad hes thinking about the ufc again, he really needs to start training with a cage though

cro cop will be back hes fighting to cautiously as of late and is sitting back and waiting to much. i know thats kind of his style but when you are losing a fight you need to attack.

i doubt he'll ever be back in the ufc...he almost platoe'd his career after he won the grand prix and pretty much called it good, as in he acted like he nothing else to achieve....lets not forget that after the grand prix there were many reports talking about how he wanted to retire....i just think the drive is gone that once fueled him.....in the fights against overeem and kongo, which are the only fights that i would warrent him looking bad (i know the gonzaga fight was a highlight ko and great ground control, but its not like he looked bad, he just got out fought in an unfamiliar enviroment by a better fighter that night in my opionon), in those fights he got kneed in the balls alot...that can take any fighter out of his element.....yet in the overeem fight he looked lost before that as well....its hard to tell sometimes with him, and i dont think choi is the guy to show us were cro cop stands, unless of course he loses...he just needs to find his drive again and soon, his years will be catching up here shortly

I dont see Cro Cop deing able to handle most of the Heavyweight fighters. Nog, Lesnar, Couture, Mir, Kongo, Barry. Any of those guys should be able to handle him with relative ease.

i honestly think the only HWs that can beat Choi are Fedor, Lesnar and Nog. people really seem to forget he has K-1 level power and striking and it is near impossible to take him down.

Yep, so if Cro Cop can do it people should be impressed, but they won't be. Choi's a freak show fight, but a guy with less meaningful wins in K-1, Pat Barry, is everyones newest lover.

haha agreed. i think people think a win in the ufc is much more significant than any other org in the world.

if choi beat dan evenson at ufc 92, (which he easily would) people would be talking about letting choi fight lesner for the title..

i would definatly be impressed in cro cop took him down or submitted choi

i consider myself a cro cop fan but i think he left because he knew the cage wasnt working for him, believe me theres nothing i want more than for cro cop to rematch kongo and knock him out brutally but i think new blood like barry is gonna revamp the HW division (or LH which is where he should be)
