i heard a rumor that ivan salaverry is returning to the ufc on the april card, i think thats awesome. Ivan was one of the first fighters i ever saw when spike started showing unleashed episodes and fight nights, i saw him bust fryklunds back and tap out joe riggs and i was immediately hooked on mma

He was doing great till he spent 3 rounds running from Marquardt. People literally standing and booing for minutes. I beleive he's the reason Franklin fought Quarry. They needed someone and figured they could sell the fight, because of his TUF popularity.

ya i was pretty disappointed in salaverry's performance against nate marquardt, but hes had some great fights since then. i hope his age doesnt slow him down too much. Didn't quarry take matt linland's place against rich franklin at 56?

i think the only thing that implies a source is They bought the WFA contracts. Also, thye did show some of his fights on unleashed again recently.

I'm not sure that Dana is going to be interested in bringing Ivan back. That fight was rather boring and the UFC is all about giving the fans the most exciting fight possible. I haven't heard or read anything about this rumor.

Except for the fact that Anderson Silva is in his way. Or if the world comes to a end Travis Lutter... Both could beat Ivan IMO. Salaverry is quite the exciting fighter at times. I saw him firs ton unleashed too. He got me rehooked on MMA. He turned me onto the UFC from were i was at that time a KOTC and TKO fan.

I liked Salaverry as well. The body sisscors he pulled out against Frykland was fantastic.
But after his attempt to recreate Shamrock vs Severn 2 with Marquardt I don't think Dana will be eager to have him back.
