The debut of Monte Cox’s Extreme Challenge promotion at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on Friday, Jan. 23 is shaping up to have strong drawing power within the Philadelphia and New Jersey markets.

Already announced as headlining the show against an opponent yet to be determined is top five ranked lightweight Eddie Alvarez, who was raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

Additionally, FiveOuncesOfPain.com can now confirm that both Tara LaRosa and Wilson Reis are scheduled to compete on the show as well. The news was confirmed via text message with Matt Stansell of North County Fight Club Fight Management, which represents both Reis and LaRosa.

Hahaha. Extreme Challenge is ancient. A very good feeder show. Adrenaline is Cox's attempt at a Midwestern Strikeforce.

I think Reis beats LaRosa via submission.

Cox could score a bit of a coup if he managed to sign Carano too.
