Although there is continued interest among those in both UFC and WEC about adding former EliteXC star Gina Carano to WEC's ranks, it may not happen anytime soon. The hangup this time? The still-apparently-unresolved ProElite contractual situation that is keeping Carano and many other EliteXC fighters in limbo for now.

There will not be a women's division as such. Zuffa are gonna start by holding exhibition matches and see how they go.

The ideal matchup right now is the obvious: Gina vs. Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, which was the plan in EliteXC before everything fell apart.

As for the women fighting yea TEst it out with Gina and the Cyborg.. if the fans respond positively and they can get other good female talent then keep them other wise don't Only if the talent is up to par I say keep them. Gina and Cyborg are worth keeping.. but who else is there? just a small handfull of other decent female fighters won't make for a deep roster. but if only two or 4 are fighting a show then it may work.
