Say that 3 times fast...DREAM Middleweight Champion Gegard Mousasi has signed on for K-1 Dynamite!! 2008 on NYE, and according to M-1 Global he will face 4-time K-1 Japan Tournament Champion Musashi in a K-1 Rules match, meaning he'll do kickboxing and not MMA.

Not interested, Mousasi is becoming one of my favorite MMA fighters and I would like to see him continue to fight mma, I know he wants to go at boxing as well, to each his own but hes a middleweight champion and hopefully he is still fighting Vitor in jan at affliction like rumored and hopefully after that the UFC

Tatsuya Kawajiri also has been added to the event, he'll face Kozo Takeda in a kickboxing fight as well.

I can understand these guys wanting to try K1, but I don't understand why on their NYE show (biggest of the year?) they want to "mismatch" by putting experienced K1 guys against guys who've never done K1. Maybe if Kawajiri and Mousasi fought each other I'd understand a bit better, and I guess Japan does love the "freak show/mismatches" so it'll prob'ly do well there, but it just seems they could arrange "better" matches.

(all the quotes are because until I see it I won't know if they really are mismatches, it just seems from a booking standpoint that's what they're doing. even if the matches wind up very competitive.)

People in Japan like it. Rampage did the same and it turned out well for him.

Very dissapointing that a guy who just won the MW Grand Prix isn't going to be fighting an MMA match in his next outing. Mousasi was interested in fighting Yoshihiro Akiyama but Akiyama wanted no part of it. Too bad as it would have been a hell of a match.

there is a rumor going around that Kimbo Slice will be making appearance at Dec 6 K-1 show in Yokohama Japan to say hi to Japanese fans, K-1 Event Producer Tanigawa confirmed. And that His K-1 debut match will be in March, vs. current K-1 heavyweight champ, Badr Hari.

This came from Japanese tabloid Tokyo Sports...If this is true, I think we will witness the most one side K1 match ever. There are few K1 fighters capable of beating Hari right now, let alone someone who has never fought in a K1 fight.

Kimbo vs. Badr Hari? What in the wide world of sports is going on over there?

It's no different then Brock vs Randy. All about money. Badr sells because he's cocky and talented, Kimbo sells because he's a freak lol.

I'm not the biggest guy on K1, as I've read and seen more I see that he has done it before. I only knew him as an mma guy. Still as others have said he just won a tourney so I'd like to see him fighting mma right now, personally.
